pam Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 ksl.com - Bus carrying LDS youth to pioneer trek destroyed by fireYou have to get past the fact that the article repeats itself. But scary for some South Jordan kids. Quote
Wingnut Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Scary. My young women are going on trek next week, through Ohio Amish country. Quote
MisterT Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 · Hidden Hidden Well, at least this group won't have to use cowpies for fuel for the fire.. Although I'm not sure which smells worse; cow poop smoke or petroliate and plastic smoke... I think I'll take the cowpoop; at least its organic. And yes, I have burned cowpoop for heat. I've even cooked over it while out hunting in Sonoita Arizona. Cold night. Even my little dauchshund hunting buddy crawled up into my hammock to stay warm, and considering I had a small smoldering fire of cowdung underneath to stay warm (imagine the smell), it was better than freezing. Boy I miss Empire Ranch.

UrbanFool Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 What is that they say? Honk if you love Jesus, text while driving if you want to meet him? I wonder exactly what "distracted driving" means? Quote
Dravin Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 (edited) What is that they say? Honk if you love Jesus, text while driving if you want to meet him? I wonder exactly what "distracted driving" means?I think it's a catch all term covering everything from looking at the landscape, doing your make-up, dealing with the kids in the back seat or, yes, texting when you should be paying attention to the road. UrbanFool Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 Well, if you run into the traffic control vehicle at 80mph, I'd say it wasn't the scenery. Quote
UrbanFool Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 And I should've clarified that. I wonder what distracted driving meant in THIS case since they know that contributed. Quote

Gwen Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 was traveling close to 80 miles per hour when she struck a traffic control vehicle with an overhead arrow board.unless someone saw what she was doing they may not know exactly what she was focused on. but it's pretty safe to say you are distracted when you hit the "move over" vehicle at such speeds.i have a friend who works for the ut highway patrol and was nearly killed by an accident caused by a driver who did not slow down when passing an accident. apparently it's becoming a big problem and danger for officers now.it's sad to me when i see more ppl moving over and stopping for funeral processions than i see them do so for emergency vehicles, accidents, etc. Quote
