Captain_Curmudgeon Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 If I remember correctly, the people that didn't pick on their own did better or pretty close to better than those that did last year. You led most of the season and I came on to win it and neither of us let the computer do our picking. Now it is true that the fan picks or the odds do well against random or irrational picking but the people who actually win do not go with the flow ALWAYS. They have that little sub-set of hunches or "superior" analysis or whatever and it comes through for a few games in the course of the season that makes the difference.Yea, verily. Quote
pam Posted September 8, 2010 Author Report Posted September 8, 2010 I for sure don't have superior analysis, I don't even have par analysis. :) Quote
pam Posted September 10, 2010 Author Report Posted September 10, 2010 Well first game started off well for the majority of us. All except for one. But we won't mention names now will we Ruck? Quote
pam Posted September 11, 2010 Author Report Posted September 11, 2010 Right along with me and 3 others. :) Quote
Ruck Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 What? I swore I picked New Orleans, due to my Brett Favre hatred. Oh well, there is still more games to even it out. Quote
Dr T Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Only 5 so far this week? Man I tanked this week. I was up and feeling strong. I'm glad I don't get paid to pick football outcomes... It's not over though. Quote
pam Posted November 1, 2010 Author Report Posted November 1, 2010 What? I swore I picked New Orleans, due to my Brett Favre hatred. Oh well, there is still more games to even it out. Geez louise..you are ahead in the u-pick-em and you are complaining about ONE game? Quote
pam Posted November 1, 2010 Author Report Posted November 1, 2010 I've decided I don't want Ruck or Bl8tant playing anymore. hahahaha j/k j/k Quote
bl8tant Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Ha! You won't get rid of me that easily. Besides, I feel my predictive powers waning… the better Oakland does, the more confused I get. Quote
Guest Godless Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 Ha! You won't get rid of me that easily. Besides, I feel my predictive powers waning… the better Oakland does, the more confused I get.I'm having the same problem in pick-em group I'm in. And I think I'm done picking Dallas to win any games this season. Quote
Captain_Curmudgeon Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 The Vikings have released Randy Moss after less than a month. They gave the Pats a third-round draft pick and paid Moss 1.5 million bucks. In that time, Moss had 13 catches, so the Vikes paid $115, 384.62 per catch. Not a bargain. Look for Favre to be suspended. Could keep his starting string intact if the timing is right. Quote
pam Posted November 3, 2010 Author Report Posted November 3, 2010 The Chargers have also released Shawne Merriman. Teams have just about another hour to pick him up or he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Any team choosing to pick him up have to pay out the 3.269M still remaining on his 2010 contract. Quote
Bethie Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Is it too late to join??? We've been doing this at home, and I have a pretty good 'wins' record so far. Week 1) 11, Week 2) 8, Week 3) 9, Week 4) 8, Week 5) 10, Week 6) 8, Week 7) 9, Week 8) 8What are the directions for joining? Or should I just wait til next year? (if there is NFL next year!) Quote
Dr T Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 That's great Bethie. All I know is I'm NOT winning right now. Quote
Dr T Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 I'm not sure how it works. I think you're able but it will not count all the games to this point. This is Pammy's thing. Ask her. She's the mod here. Quote
pam Posted November 10, 2010 Author Report Posted November 10, 2010 Don't forget there is a Thursday night game this week. Get your picks done early. Quote
Dr T Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Where do I stand now? Let me go see. Quote
Dr T Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 I'm currently up by 1, 2 and 3. Curm made a HUGE move this week with his 12. Quote
pam Posted November 10, 2010 Author Report Posted November 10, 2010 For once I'm not on the bottom. :) Quote
