Dr T Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 I became an Elder in my church and was asked to help baptize 15 people. We went to a lake nearby and I was unable to walk well today so was unable to help with the baptisms. I did brink my clothes and water socks/shoes but when I got there I had a hard time walking down to the water and decided not to participate. I enjoyed watching them and we had great food afterwards. It was great to see the people follow in Jesus' example. They even did two married couples at the same time. It was really fun. Quote
AnthonyB Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Dr T, Just wanted to say, 15 getting dunked is really great news. 15 folk being "immersed" into Jesus, being obedient to the initiation ceremony of faith he left his disciples. Quote
Dr T Posted September 16, 2010 Author Report Posted September 16, 2010 I'm with you on that Anthony. :) It was exciting! Quote

It's too bad that you weren't able to help with the Baptisms. I remember the one and only person, so far, that I baptised and it was an amazing experience.I hope that you are able to do some baptisms next time.Best of Luck. Quote
Dr T Posted September 17, 2010 Author Report Posted September 17, 2010 Thanks Canuk. I hope so too. :) Quote
prisonchaplain Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 We occasionally do baptisms in the jail, thanks to a portable tank that we had donated to us. Still, I am cautious. The ordinance is so meaningful, and I sometimes sense that some partake because their friends are. Nevertheless, when we have them they are precious to see. The most precious one I ever officiated was for my own daughter. That one brought tears! Quote
