SeattleTruthSeeker Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 At 3 am this morning, a two-alarm fire broke out and destroyed the Harbour Pointe Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This housed two wards, the Harbour Pointe Ward and the Beverly Park ward. A video of the news report can be seen at King5 News and Komo News 4 has an article on it. This was the place where my daughter was blessed, my wife and I were married (in the Relief Society Room). Very sad news. We are going to head on over, get some pictures, and I will post a blog news commentary on this later today as time will allow. Quote
john doe Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 The news report I heard was that they thought it might be arson. Is that still the case? Quote
pam Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Our local news also says that if the building had been equipped with sprinklers it would have saved it from destruction. Quote
ADoyle90815 Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 That is sad, and I hope they're able to rebuild soon, and that if it's arson, that the perpetrators are caught. Quote
PrinceofLight2000 Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 I heard about this, it's not very far from where I live. Did they determine the cause? I hope it wasn't arson. Quote
SeattleTruthSeeker Posted October 17, 2010 Author Report Posted October 17, 2010 King 5 News has just released that this is the work of an arsonist. Quote
PrinceofLight2000 Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 King 5 News has just released that this is the work of an arsonist.Ugh... Now to find out who it is and what their motives were. Just great. I hope our building isn't next, or any for that matter. Quote
HoosierGuy Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Sad but not too sad - no one was hurt or killed. Be happy for that! Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 IMHO, if they want to catch the arsonist, they should start by tracking down the IPs of some of the commentators to those stories that got linked. Good gravy! Quote
Roseslipper Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 this is sad to think of some one would do such a thing., but hey this is the world we live in and its not pretty alot of ugly stuff happens. and yes I agree with hoosier thank goodness no one was hurt. Quote
