Seanette Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 I just nabbed an iPod Touch on eBay I've really wanted for a long time (took me a while to find one I could afford at the time I was hunting). It should be here in about a week. Now I need suggestions for apps, especially for Scriptures and other Church books. I also want to be able to handle my existing Mobipocket e-books, and PDFs, ideally in as few apps as possible. :) Recommendations? Quote
beefche Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 The Church has an official app for the scriptures (and it includes TONS of other stuff like Conference issues, Preach my Gospel, the RS/Priesthood manual, etc.). Just go to iTunes and type in LDS scriptures and look for it--it's free and it says it's the official app. Also, Eurchre Lite is AWESOME. I'm addicted. Quote

I recommend stuff from Gameloft, as well as Bust-A-Move (nostalgia talking) and Bejeweled 2 for when you're bored. For RPG fans, Final fantasy 1 and 2 are available. =D Attack and Defend are also good. Quote
beefche Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 Oh, and just to make sure you know, I'm cheap. I have not paid for, nor plan on paying for, any apps. I look at the free ones to decide. Quote

mikbone Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 LDS Scriptures Library is very well put together I don't mind paying $15 for the program but I am unwilling to pay for it twice to have the ipad and iphone version... I just have the iphone version. My LDS stake is pretty nice too. But it is $5. It has an updated ward list, and you can link to the map function easily to find members homes. I have used it a few times to help me recall a members name while in meetings. Pretty slick. Mormon Channel is a must have. I use it to listen to prior talks, music while traveling in the car. It is updated periodically and FREE I also use FStream to listen to the KSL feed. Very useful if you want to follow the BYU Cougars and the game is not available in your area. Quote
