I wanted some feedback from anyone interested. I created this digital picture during my five week stay at the hospital right after my dad's accident. It didn't take me all five weeks of course, about two days. Anyway, I wondered what you guys think of it good or bad. Everything is original (made from scratch) except for the Christus figure which of course was inserted after I had created everything else. :)

Wow - very nice. What program(s) do you use?

Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it.

I use Photoshop CS2 for pretty much all my digital art. Where 3D figures/models are needed I use Poser 6, 3DStudioMax and Vue 5 Infinite. :)

That's really impressive AK...very nice. You sound as if you share a great deal of interest in art/graphics/3d stuff with my friend Graeme who works with Poser and 3D Max and other progs. all the time!! He's totally engrossed in working in the various programmes, and obtaining plug-ins etc. I haven't seen much of his work yet tho, he's a bit of a perfectionist and refuses to show something till he's really satisfied with it...lol.

:hmmm: well, my brother is an artist and I know that it is nice to have complements and you do deserve them. But more importantly I have found that when he really is asking me for how something effects me, he would really like to know. So, this is what I would hope will help you.

I think that the picture is very striking, however, the edge colors are very warm and dark, and the print very sharp. This brings an effect of a messege of possible anger, or other extream circumstances. This background would work in my mind with a theme of the last days and the prophecies concerning the concequences of being unwilling to repent.

Otherwise, I think that if you added more cool colors and lightened to clouds... OR ...possibly extend the rays into the clouds and show how the light disseminates darkness..."and the darkness comprehendeth it not." (John 1:5)

Anyhow, that is my honest impression upon seeing your artwork. It is a great start. Make it glorify the God you serve. Put all your love into it, and it will become something you are sure of.

Thanks for your time in really giving me your opinion.

Thanks for the input. I left the clouds dark because I was trying to emulate cosmic photographs of nebulas like those you'd see from the Hubble Telescope. I guess I was trying to show power, creation, light and such beginning with and extending from Jesus, pushing the darkness away.

Plus, it's easier to read the text with a dark background. :)

You have some good observations that I hadn't considered. For an example of a real picture I was trying to emulate, see here. Thanks again for the feedback.

I like your idea of His physical presence while He is creating the "scenes" in space, and I would like to see more of that "stuff", with many of the others scenes out there. :)

I don't know how I missed this thread... great job AK :) and one of the first things I noticed was the glow around the hands of Christ..... your right... pushing the darkness away. I love the pictures iwth lighter colors and all, but if you really think about it.... not everything is bright and rosy....sometimes things are dark and gloomy like the nebulas photo from the hubble sight. And with Christ in the center of our universe (our lives) the dark and gloomy disapates from within.

my two cents

I'm glad I was able to communicate something that resonates with others. Life can be dark indeed...thank goodness for Christ.

Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

I like this picture, I also like it because it shows the presence of Jesus at the creation.

John 1:5

5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

This verse came to mind also.

Thanks for pointing those out, especially Psalm 19:1. I really like that one.
