Besides which, Micrpsoft is now going to make and sell MP3 players themselves (thru Tosiba) and song, neither of which is compatible with their own Plays For Sure system so all their previous partners and customeres are screwed. The most comprehensive source of songs on the internet is Apple' ITunes store. The songs are 99 cents each and compatible with the best computer jukebox player (ITunes) and the vast majority of portable players sold (IPod). Quote

It's $80 per year. I inherited some of my mom's music collection and started collecting my own decades ago. Music has a potentially unlimited shelf life and I expect to own all my collection till I die and then give it to my kids who love it as much as I do. Since you have to pay month after month, year after year to rent/borrow your music collection, it won't take all that many years for you to exceed the $2500 you mentioned, and then double it and triple it.Besides, the cost of the CD I just bought or the music I get from ITunes will never go up - ever. I bought it once and that's it. I never pay more. The cost of your music subscription will increase in the future. Yahoo is already losing a lot of money on the venture. If Yahoo still has it in 5 years (which they probably won't has Apple is burying every competitor it faces), it won't be 5 dollars a month. It will be $17 a month (which is closer to how much it costs Yahoo to provide it) and then $25 and then more... in the future, a lot more. Quote

Or, if you have a large music collection already, ITunes would be good.If like me you don't have a large music collection or $2500 to spend on music. Then Yahoo Music is a good way to get $2500 worth of songs for $5 a month. You also get nice features like Yahoo radio.Josh B) Quote
Princess3dward Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 By the sounds of it, you are choosing between long term or short term. Now, I don't have a house, nor do I live in one, but that sounds like mortguage (sp?). It also sounds like a math question. I refuse to graph that! Quote

Now if you have $2500 dollars to spend on music, then go with Apple, otherwise...Yahoo is the better choice.Josh B) Quote

EricM Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 I just go out and by my music on CDs, then save them to my computer. I usually get the CDs used for around $7, thus cheaper than most albums on iTunes. Plus I've got a hard copy. It's a win-win. Quote

Is that $0.99 a song? if it is than 10 songs per CD is $9.90 - more expensive than the $7.00.I buy CD's jointly with my friend - burn a copy for each of us to use in the car - or work, plus put it on our computers. She keeps the original - she has the space, I don't. THAT is a WIN-WIN too!Winnie, lds.org has a music section and I think that you can download to your computer. Once you have it downloaded, then you can burn to a CD. You can, I just check. Go to Serving in the Church; and at the bottom, far right is the link. That will bring up a new menu. Click on Music. It tells you there how to download, how to save and how to replay. Happy Listening. Oh by the way it is FREE!! - love that price, FREE, don't you?? Quote
