I am a member of the RLDS Restoration Branches Movement, and participate in the Joint Conference of Restoration Branches My wife and I recently gathered to Independence, in obedience to the Law of Gathering. We eagerly anticipate the events of the Last Days and the Second Coming of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. I am a Priest and look forward to being earnestly involved in activities that will bring members of the various Book of Mormon believing churches together to share in those things we can work together in.

God Bless.

KirtlandSaintinZion, It sounds as though there is a specific teaching within your religion to gather to Zion. If you'll forgive my ignorance, I would love to hear about this "Law of Gathering".

Hello and welcome, I'm not familiar with RLDS....what's that? Looking forward to discussions with you. :)

RLDS= Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints

Restoration Branches= Those Saints disenfranchised from the RLDS (now Community of Christ) Church because we would not accept the doctrinal changes being planned and instituted by church leaders.

Joint Conference of Restoration Branches (J.C.R.B.)= A gathering of Restoration Branches working in harmony to bring the church back into order. Some of the moves we have made, such as the calling of additional Seventy, have upset other Restoration Branches.

- We believe that we are the purest continuation of the church restored through Joseph Smith Jr.

- We believe that Joseph Smith III was designated by his father Joseph Smith Jr. to eventually lead the Saints as President/Prophet. (I personally believe that Joseph III is the "One Mighty and Strong" mentioned in LDS D&C 85).

- We believe that "Zion shall not be moved out of her place" and Missouri is still the spot where the Saints of God have been commanded to gather.

The teaching comes from several Sections of the D&C (both LDS & RLDS). Give me a chance to find you the specific Sections to study.
