Bini Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 With food on the fork only work with boys? Cos my daughter ain't havin' it! Quote
Jennarator Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Maybe, because my son loves it! :) Quote
Wingnut Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Does your daughter still get spoon-fed? My daughter started refusing that months ago, and mine is about 6 weeks younger than yours, I think, Bini. Quote
Anddenex Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 If children are being stubborn while playing aeroplane...pinch them gently. The moment you pinch them gently, the mouth opens, and then land that aeroplane as quickly as possible.Warning:Pinching may result in other side affects: screaming, crying, spitting food at you, and drooling. Use caution when implementing this practice. 50% of children do not like this technique, the percentage may be skewed, however.I hold no responsibility should you try this option...the consequences are yours and yours alone. Jennarator Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Mine wants to start feeding himself, but I don't want the mess. But it's a good point. Maybe she just wants to try it herself. Quote
Guest Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 None of mine, daughters or son, ever liked being fed much. But then we never did baby food and probably started solids later than most, so they were able to feed themselves to some extent. Quote
Bini Posted February 8, 2013 Author Report Posted February 8, 2013 She is a self feeder but only with finger food. I have introduced her to the spork but she's not crazy about using it, especially, when she can reach down and grab whatever is in front of her. She's not a big eater, in fact, she grazes all day (a little bit here and a little bit there) and will fight sitting down for a proper meal. That's usually the situation where I'll try to feed her some bites. Quote
Guest Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Sound like a perfectly normal one-year-old. :) Quote
classylady Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 My granddaughter is 16 months old. She's at the stage where she only wants to feed herself. But, I did play airplane with her yesterday when she wasn't eating, and it worked. So, apparently it will work for girls too. Quote
