HoosierGuy Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 I have a wide screen R.C.A. HD TV. The problem is the speakers on it are horrible. It is probably one of the worst sounding TVs I've ever heard. I even considered demolishing this TV because the sound is so bad. What I did though was get a soundbar. The problem is I have to use two remotes, one for the TV and one for the soundbar. I'm looking for another soundbar. Do any of you have HD TVs and also soundbars? If so have you been able to use them both with one remote? If so, what brand of soundbar did you have? I'm looking for recommendations. Thanks Quote
Guest Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 Ugh. Soundbar remote codes, blech! I have DirecTV DVR connected to my Samsung LCD HDTV and Samsung Soundbar... It took me eons of searches on the Internet and a jillion frustrations to finally get my DirecTV remote to change the volume of the soundbar and power it off. I set the soundbar to AV2 and went through all the Samsung codes to try to find one that works as it can't find the darned thing using auto-find. No luck. I finally found some dude on the Internet that suggested the TV codes, not the audio ones, and after getting my fingers down to stubs, one of the codes finally worked. I connected the soundbar to the TV using the optical line which allows the soundbar to turn off/on with the TV that is controlled by the TV port on the remote. But... It took me a long time to figure out that the soundbar does not turn on/off in time with the TV. It actually turns on a minute or so after the TV does and turns off about 20 minutes after the TV does. Anyway, it's working ok now and I'm happy with the sound quality, but sheeshhh, had to draw some blood first! Quote
Canuck Mormon Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 You're complaining about using two remotes? I have one for the TV, one for the PVR, one for the soundbar and one for the Internet TV. The PVR controls both the TV and the box, but not the soundbar. The Internet TV remote controls that box and the TV, but not the sound bar. In fact, if I use the Internet TV I need to use the TV speakers because the soundbar is hooked up to the PVR only. Drives my wife nuts!!! Quote

Finrock Posted May 2, 2013 Report Posted May 2, 2013 These are only ten bucks and it will turn any TV in to a large screen TV. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns your TV HD too. Lot cheaper than getting a new TV.https://www.buyzoomies.com/Order.aspxRegards,Finrock Quote
