TalkativeIntrovert Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 I know we are not supposed to talk about things in the temple as it is sacred. Does this apply to speaking to bishop about it? Quote

TalkativeIntrovert Posted July 24, 2013 Author Report Posted July 24, 2013 So can you talk to anyone about temple stuff? Quote
Pioneer47 Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 There are only certain things you covenant not to discuss when you go through the temple. Nothing except those things are bound by that covenant. Quote
TalkativeIntrovert Posted July 24, 2013 Author Report Posted July 24, 2013 That makes it hard - I can't remember what was in the covenant and what wasn't as it was so long ago. I will talk to Bishop in general, I guess he will stop me if I cross the line. Thanks everyone. Quote
mordorbund Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 Bishops are the gatekeepers watching over temple entrance, while the temple presidency watch over the work performed within the temple. If you have questions about your worthiness to enter the temple, talk to your bishop (the recommend interview does ask if you are keeping the covenants you made in the temple). If you have questions about the work performed in the temple, the order and the liturgy, talk to a member of the temple presidency. You can call the temple and schedule an appointment. On a related note, if you have questions about preparing family names for the ordinances, you can talk to your ward's family history specialist. Quote
skalenfehl Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 There are only certain things you covenant not to discuss when you go through the temple. Nothing except those things are bound by that covenant. You only covenant not to reveal a certain name and also signs and tokens. Other than this, the endowment ritual is purely symbolic of things we can easily read about in the scriptures, plain as outdoor daylight. Quote
TalkativeIntrovert Posted July 24, 2013 Author Report Posted July 24, 2013 Lightbulb moment - thanks skalenfeh - that has prompted me to remember! Quote
