Ok, I got a toothache last week. I noticed a few weeks before that that I was becoming alarming numb to people and things around me (Yes, I am going through a trial right now but this was bad). I would rather be on the internet because it was somehow too tiring to play with my child. I would hear the cries of my precious baby and not want to respond. I didn't care if my children finished their homework (which is unheard of). We barely got it done. It affected my marriage. I tried talking myself out of it. Last week I prayed about it and within a hour my gums started hurting and I was getting shooting pain up to my eye. Why am I so excited? Because it abcessed yesterday. Do not worry. I have already seen the dentist amd I am scheduled to have a root canal soon. I am excited because it is conformation to me WHY I have been the way I have been. I had an abcessed tooth before (my tooth did not hurt so I did not even know I had a problem). I remember feeling similar with that one. i was sooo tired. First day on antibiotics and started getting more energy. Woo-hoo! I can be normal again! I feel like dancing! *dancing* *dancing more*.

reminded me of this song

My past tooth aches before the massive surgery caused me no nearly pass out at a Megadeth concert

Love the video! Thank you.

I could not imagine having that much tooth pain. I am glad you don't have them anymore.

They thought I had cancer in my jaw... turns out it was a hole and they weren't sure how it happened, people say it was a miracle though I don't believe that.

Lost 6 teeth, including the wisdom teeth that needed to come out and others needed to be removed for the jaw repair thing and such

I'm going in today for a possible abscess today, because I want a root canal for Christmas! It's kept me awake the past 2 nights.

I'm glad you're feeling better!

It's unreal how much pain you can be in and survive. Last July I had 3 wisdom teeth removed because 15 ibuprofen a day is expensive :D

I only took the painkillers after the surgery for about a day or so, though I took all the anti-biotics, not messing with infection.

I find a lot of medication has more negative effects on me, like my mind which I don't want, which is why the only medicine I ever take is tums

Oh yes. Tooth ache can affect your entire being! It is really a wierd thing. When I get a toothache, I am down for the count.

Interesting anecdote: My grandfather has not lost a single permanent tooth until the last year of his life at 83 years old. He got his molar removed, got a stroke, and died not too long after.

I am scared of dentists. But, for some reason, a root canal doesn't bother me much! They put this rubber thingee over your mouth which is the most uncomfortable thing on the planet but I just put on some tunes, keep my mouth open, close my eyes, and wait until it is all over. It doesn't hurt. And afterwards, I feel like somebody punched me in the face but ibuprofen is enough to keep me comfortable. I had 2 root canals done in one day even. And there was a time when I had 2 crowns and 4 fillings done in one sitting too. The dentist has this "crown mold" that makes the crown right there a few feet from the dentist chair so I don't have to come back for it. Dentistry has come a long way, baby...

Wow! That is a crazy (and painful) story. Sounded expensive, too.

Wouldn't it be nice to inherit healthy teeth genes? If a person gets the bad teeth genes, it isn't fun. Have bad teeth genes on both sides of my family.

I thought I had an ear infection but turned out it was my tooth. Entire side of my head throbbed. I was absolutely giddy in the dentists office to know the pain would soon be gone, and I hate dentists.

A friend of mine has had zero cavities and probably never will... Urghhh... I think it may be a "good" bacteria and possibly good genetics.

Mine turned out to be a combination of a too-high crown, clenching/grinding my teeth, and sensitive gums. Cheaper than a root canal but longer recovery. :( Mouth pain stinks.

Wish I inherited the thing... I was the one with big teeth that didn't fit in my mouth so my canines sat half on top of the incisors. So, the back of the canine developed cavities because I can't get to it with the toothbrush so the dentist took it out because he can't get to it to fill it either. Which was cool with me because then I didn't look a fright after it got took out. I still have crooked teeth but at least it's not bulging out of my lip!

I do not like taking them, either. When I was 17, I got my wisdom teeth out (all 4) and didn't take anything except 2 baby tylenol. 2 of them had been impacted. I don't think I would do that again. Worst pain ever and I have had all my kids natural! I was already underweight and lost 10 pounds because I could hardly eat anything for a week. Would not do that again!

I had to eat, if I loose any weight then I might die:lol:
