Quin Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 We're having Round#1 of "We're sick of winter" parties at my parents ... Which means its Burgers & punches. (Round 2 is Latin Food & Virgin Margaritas). So I'm schlepping to the store with everyone's lists of ingredients for their burgers this year, which means I'm collecting emails with ingredient listings. Beef, Bison, Lamb, Turkey, Chicken, & Portobello mushrooms are all on my list. Sadly, the game store is late on their shipment of wallabies, so no wallaby burgers this time. No one makes their burgers in the same way. How bout y'all? How do you make yours?_______________I do a couple different ones, but this smorgasburger I'm doing turkey. Palerider Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Love burgers....every now and then I take an egg and fry it where it's still a little runny and put it on my burger. Good stuff Quote
pam Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 My favorite burger is a mushroom/swiss burger. Or a garlic burger. Quote
Palerider Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 With a burger my wife likes to put mayonnaise on her bread. I could never do that. Quote

Anddenex Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Cheese, bacon, and hamburger...and a little bit of ranch (or mustard, ketchup, and mayo). No lettuce, no tomatoes, no onions (no matter the color), and especially NO MUSHROOMS. Mushrooms don't belong on anything, especially hamburgers! Quote

Woodendance Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 My favorite burger is actually a veggie burger with mushrooms from a little diner in LA called Fred 62. It's slightly spicy and it's amazing. If it's a meat burger it's just good old fashion 96% lean beef. With a whole wheat bun and ketcup and corses dijon mustard and it just smashed and cooked on a black iron skillet. Quote
Sharky Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 depends on the mood ... sometimes a really good burger is nothing more then the burger (70% .. none of this extra lean stuff) on plain old bread with mustard, maybe some good spicey dill pickles & cheese. Quote

Guest Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 We buy whole raw turkey (like they sell for Thanksgiving dinner. Slice off all the meat - white and dark - run it through the Ninja to grind, make it into quarter-pound patties and put on the grill brushed with coconut oil. No seasoning. Just turkey.Put it ion a sesame seed bun topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup. That's it. Quote

Drpepper Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Is it just me or is there something about having egg yoke running through you fingers while your trying to stuff a hamburger into you mouth that makes the whole event all that more enjoyable. Quote

classylady Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 I'm a plain Jane when it comes to burgers. I happen to like most inexpensive fast food cheeseburgers like McDonalds, Wendys, or Burger King. When it comes to homemade burgers, this is what I like:Mayo, ketchup, and mustard on both top and bottom buns.Beef hamburger patty with cheddar cheese on the top.Tomato and lettuce. If I'm in the mood I might put on a dill pickle or two. But, that is rare. Quote
