The next time someone comes up to you and says, "I can't join your church...it has too many hippocrates in it"...just slap the 'ol chap on the back and say,"Amen brother! but join anyway...we have room for one more!"

When you take "God" out of "Good", all you have left is "o"

A preacher's job is to comfort the afflickted...and afflick the comfortable!

Do your giving while you're living so's you're knowing where it's going

You never see a herse pulling a U-haul

We can never be too careful what seeds our hands shall soe...love from love is sure to ripen...hate from hate is sure to grow

As long as you continue to think of yourself as "green", you will continue to grow...as soon as you think you are "ripe", you start to rot.

One just man causes the devil more affliction then a million blind believers

Pilates hands were never dirtier than just after he had washed them

(Matt. 6:26) God feeds the sparrow...but he doesn't throw it into the nest

knowing and following the golden rule won't get you to Heaven...you have to know the Golden Ruler!

Watch today and not tomarrow, for tomarrow may never come...for today thy loving savior may appear to take you home

If God is your co-pilate...change seats!

Why are we getting fatter? Because the only exersize most of us get is jumping to conclusions, running down other religions, side-steping responcibility, and pushing our luck!

God made the world round so we can't see too far down the road

I had ambition, by which sin the devil fell, as I climed up step by step...oh Lord, I assended into Hell!

The middle letter of the word "pride" is the word "I"

Our Deepest Fear

by Marianne Williamson from "A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles"

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

When you sing your own praises, you are ALWAYS out of tune!

There is power in selfishness, the proud and willfull "I", before my God can use me...that proud old self must die!

The Bible: If you can't understand it...don't rewrite it, just reREAD it!

All endings are also beginnings

A lie will travel all the way around the world before the truth can even get it's boots on!

I sought my soul, but my soul I could not see...

I sought my God, but somehow he eluded me...

Then I sought my brother, and I found all three!

The brook would lose it's song if you took out all the rocks.

When everything seems to be going against you....remember that the airplane takes off AGAINST the wind

Christians are like coals of fire...together they glow, apart...they grow cold.

Sampson was a HE-man with a SHE-weakness!

A week without prayer makes one weak.

The maniac of Gadara was a nude dude in a rude mood!

The BEST protection from Satan's lies is to know God's truth.

You can never speak to the wrong person about Christ.

What we go after here determines where we go hearafter.

Hell is the place where the person you are meets the person you COULD have been.

You cannot convert people beyond your own conversion.

You can slap the words,"Holy Bible" onto the back of a comic book and some poor fool will preach superman to you!

here are some more...

Slanderers are like flies that pass over a man's good parts to light only on his sores.

Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do for a living, "practice"?

Kneeling now and then keeps you in good standing.

I can complain that my rosebush has thorns or I can marvel at the thornbush with it's beautiful flowers!

I went to a bookstore and asked the sales person,"Where's the self-help section?" she said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose!

Live only for tomarrow and you will have alot of empty yesterdays.

You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him.

Grace is when God gives us what we don't deserve, and mercy is when God doesn't give us what we DO deserve.

A real friend never gets in your way---unless you are on your way down.

On your knees you are taller than trees.

Collaps in the christian life is rarely a blow-out, it's usually a slow leak.

Are you wise enough to become a fool for Christ?

From where are you getting them?

I was raised in a Southern Baptist church...I got in the habbit of writng down anything funny or inspiring that the preacher said...now, as a mormon...I do the same thing. Also, I read reader's digest, and I just copy down quotes that I run accross in the many books I read or just day to day life. I started this habbit years ago...now, I have 1000's of qoutes...just wish I had thought about writing down who said most of them!

Please keep 'em coming! I have been stealing a couple of yours every time you post! I collect quotes too! :-)

Of course you realize, 'nilla...that you just said. "sick 'um" to a dog! Here are more...

Nothing I say this day will teach me anything. So if I'm going to learn, I must do it by listening.

You can't do anything about what is gone, but you can do something about what is left.

We don't pray to get God's attention. We pray to turn our attention toward him.

The only thing we can change about our past is our perception of it.

If your ship doesn't come in...swim out to it.

God gives and forgives...man gets and forgets!

We should live our lives as such that each morning when we awake, the adversary says to himself, "Oh heck, she's awake again!"

A rumer is the only thing in this world that gets thicker as you spread it!

Remember that life is the test, not the reward.

Vanity is nothing with skin around it.

If you're happy down inside...why don't you tell your face about it?

It's better to teach one man to pray than ten to preach.

Practise His presence.

I may be a religious nut, but I'm fastened to the right bolt.

Men who try to drown their sorrows will find that their sorrows can swim.

Your body is a Temple...not the visiting center.

The cracks in your life are places that can let the sun shine through.

Even a brocken clock is right two times a day.

The next time Satan reminds you of your past...remind him of his future.

Whatever is over our heads is beneath God's feet.

I've become much more content since I learned that this life is just a phase I'm going through.

Noah came before the flood...Joeseph Smith came before the fire.

To live with saints in Heaven is bliss and glory...to live with them on Earth is another story.

We gather for strenght, but we bring with us all of our weakness.

If you want to hear God laugh...tell him your plan.

OK, 'nilla....now would you please post some of yours up hear so I can skip a year or two?

The best things in life aren't things.

There is no vessel as whole as a broken heart.

You can't serve God without offending the Devil.

Feed your faith and doubt will starve to death.

Unchallenged souls are largely undeveloped souls.

The path of least resistance is the path of least reward.

sorry i just saw this. lol

i saw a portion of the quote in the movie akeelah and the bee and loved it so i looked it up. this is what i found.....

* Factual errors: The plaque on the wall in Dr. Larabee's office, which he makes Akeelah read, wrongly attributes the quote to Nelson Mandela's 1994 inaugural speech. This is a common mistake, but Nelson Mandela has never used that quote in any of his published speeches. The quote is from Marianne Williamson an American spiritual activist.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0437800/goofs

so then i started searching her and found the rest of the quote
