Here we are once again in the Midwest it was in the 60's yesterday. Today the high was 34 and we hit that just this morning. Temps falling into the middle teens and it's been raining and now it's freezing. They called Church services off today. We are suppose to end up with 2-4 inches of snow. We will have a nice mixture of snow and ice.

I think I would have lost my ever-loving mind by now.

After a long, long, cold inversion and forgetting what the sun looked like for awhile, we've had a couple of lovely weeks of Spring weather. I hope it sticks around.

Winter is letting us know he isn't ready to go away just yet.

It's sunny this morning but cold. DH and I are eager to start some yard projects because the landscaping was a bit of a mess when we bought the new house, it just hadn't been tended to much aside from mowing, and then winter hit so gardening and planting is in order.

We have to be careful around this part of the country when planting. A hard frost or two will wipe out new plants if put in the ground too early.

We lost a lot of our fruit last year, at home and in the orchards, because flowers budded and then it froze really hard. I'm hoping that doesn't happen this year. We have 4 fruit trees at our new house, and got only a little fruit from 2 of them last fall. Plus we need the orchards to have a good year. The church farm here grow a lot of fruit for the church welfare system.

Maybe two years ago I went through "freezing fog." I never heard of it before. I was driving through fog and my windshield completely turned into a windshield of ice. I could not wipe it away with the wipers and it was too think to defrost quickly. I drove off the highway and the Hwy Patrol closed the highway for safety reasons. it was an interesting experience. I'm thankful nobody was hurt.

Wow, I've never heard of that either. Thunder and lightning are one of those other odd things that can happen in the wintertime.

Here in central Alberta, it is nice and the snow if finally melting; puddles everywhere.

Around here if it's snowing and you hear thunder and lightening.....that's never a good sign.

I've gotten stuck in mountain jobs with "freezing mist".

Stuff gets sucked into the engine & vents & that's all she wrote.

Apparently the Afghanistan stuff has meant the US Govt has designed engines and heating systems & rebreathers that can handle it (breathing it is no bueno if you like your lungs not coated in ice)... But we didn't have cool stuff like that.

Like you, it was STOP!!!

I will sooooooo not have a tombstone that reads death fog.

Spent the day swimming the Atlantic Ocean and laying on the beach last Saturday. If it wasn't for all the pollen driving my allergies up the roof, it would be a perfect day.

We had snow this morning, but just enough to cover the grass. The streets were clear. Yesterday was warm enough for a light raincoat, today I had to wear a full winter coat over a jacket when I went to church, it was that cold.

I've stopped trying to figure out the weather. This has been a record-breaking winter here, with tons of snow and frequent day time temps below zero. I just hope I can maintain my sanity long enough to see the spring.
