iTunes & burn.

If you don't have a CD burner on your computer... You can not only burn one at FedEx Kinkos (or similar) but print out the label directly onto the CD (the paint kind).

If you DO have a burner on your computer, but still want to print the paint label, OfficeDepot has the kits for it. Can't remember if they're for inkjet or laser printers. Course a trip to FedExKinkos for that would work, too!

These CDs are what my 2 boys slept to as babies. They still love these until today - my oldest is 12 and has been playing Yanni's piano solos on his piano.

"In My Time" album by Yanni

Ocean Waves with Soothing Classical Music (that's the title of the CD)

Pachelbel Cannon in D on dueling violins (I lost this CD so I can't remember the exact name of the orchestra)

(These ones are not your normal soothing music but for some reason my boys like to listen to these 2 albums before they go to bed)

"Watermark" album by Enya

"Jars of Clay" album by Jars of Clay

And a CD I got from one of the missionaries where he played classical guitar instrumental of songs from the Children's Hymnbook as well as a few of his own compositions. Maybe there's a professional CD of instrumental children hymns you can get from Deseret if you're close to one.

I don't know what a man like me would know about suitable baby shower gifts, but I have always noticed that the Church's recordings for the Children's Songbook are almost all fairly quiet, subdued recordings (it seems that the Church showed a strong preference for a small string ensemble for the music). Again, I don't know how well it would go over as a shower present, but I might suggest that the Church's Children's Songbook CD's would fit the description you asked for. In addition to the full CD's, you can go to LDS.org to the music library and download MP3's for most of the songs and burn to a CD.

I almost did get the childrens song book along with a child's prayer but desided not to cause the parents are musical and thought they might have it. Im so happy for them they will be great parents and their babies are such a big blessing!! It will be a blessed family!! :)
