Does anyone have experience conducting a baby blessing with a part-member family? My (non-member) husband and I are having our little girl blessed this weekend at my parents, and his baptist/aitheist family wants to come. Of course they are welcome, I was just wondering that other people's experiences were.

Most baby blessings occur at church (sacrament meeting). I have plenty of non-member/part-member family. My cousin (member) just had her 2nd child blessed in Sacrament meeting 2 weeks ago. We had plenty of non-member and inactive family attend... and it was nice because it was also fast & testimony meeting too.

Did you have any specific concerns in mind that we can address?

Yep, we just conducted a baby blessing this past Sunday with a part member family. They are no different than all member family blessings...except it is usually helpful to provide the family members who are not LDS the procedure of a baby blessing. What happens. Who is invited in the circle.

However, a lot of our part member families, or less active usually choose to have the baby blessing in their home at a time a bishop member can attend.

We were going to do it at my parent's house on a Friday night, just because that's when everyone could make it.

I'm just nervous about non-member questions/thoughts, particularly from my very Baptist mother-in-law.

We had our last grand child blessed in the home of my son in laws parents. They had their non member neighbors and some relatives in attendance. It went well.....I was not aware of any questions of a difficult nature or otherwise.
