Guest the_big_picture Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 If you want I can send you a swedish cat? Il take a kitten so I can send it as a mail. much cheaper. Quote
Dr T Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Hey Emma Hale Smith, Basically I've had bad experiences with pets (dogs) while married. We spent too much money on hospitals, medication, etc. for them to end up dying anyway. Recently my children (and wife) came and asked if "we could have a kitten." I told them from the very beginning, "It will by your cat not mine." They now have a cat named Sassy but it is not mine. People on this site gave names suggestions and that sort of thing. Then they had another cat and I told them "We are not keeping this cat." "We can rehab it and then give it away but we are not keeping it." We did that and the night we gave her away, a dog killed it. I was not attached because it was not my cat. So even though we have Sassy at our house, it is not mine. "I don't have a cat." That is what that is all about. Quote
orrinjelo Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 So you do have a cat, but the cat does not belong to you. But don't you feed it? Doesn't it mean it is YOUR cat??? Quote
Dr T Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 No sir, I do not have a cat. I do not feed it. I go not give it water. I do not clean up after it. It takes up residence where I live but it is not my cat. Quote
Guest MrsS Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 No sir, I do not have a cat. I do not feed it. I go not give it water. I do not clean up after it. It takes up residence where I live but it is not my cat.Boy oh Boy Dr.T are you ever in denial! Who earns the money that feeds it, waters it, buys its litter, pay rent/utilities on the house where the sweet, darling cat lives???? YOU DO. You are Cat Owned!!! Quote
Dr T Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Denial is BLISS Just because someone pays for something it does not follow that they "own it." Quote
pam Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 No sir, I do not have a cat. I do not feed it. I go not give it water. I do not clean up after it. It takes up residence where I live but it is not my cat.Would that not be animal cruelty? Quote
Guest MrsS Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Denial is BLISS Just because someone pays for something it does not follow that they "own it."I will repeat my previous quote once again: Boy oh Boy Dr.T are you ever in denial! Dr T Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 I'm loving your idea of Cat Owned. Maybe like a distant cousin (five times removed-whatever that means) or something like that but not nuclear family that's for sure. Quote
orrinjelo Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 You know, if you lived in Germany, and you fed a cat, by law, the cat would be owned by YOU. ... Good thing you don't live there. Quote
Gwen Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 No sir, I do not have a cat. I do not feed it. I go not give it water. I do not clean up after it. It takes up residence where I live but it is not my cat.ok wait a min. i'm confused. i thought there was a whole skunk incident or something like that from another topic while you were letting the cat out. i'm sure i'm remembering wrong, you would know better than i. but if i'm not... isn't that taking care of the cat that you don't take care of? She just lives in his house and eats the food he buys for her. She's not HIS cat.....or so he says. Quote
