Guest the_big_picture Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 I have been on weekation to America before, I liked it and would like to visit once more. After that I converted to mormonism, since I heard bad storys of muslims going there after 9/11. The ones that have converted from islam have no troubles at all. What are the stuff to see? Where are the nice towns? Salt Lake city, except for the tempel is it something special about that city? Im thinking of LA, or Miami, or even Vegas. Already been to New York. Quote
StosRob Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Maybe Washington DC and visit the different places there - take a tour of the White House. The River Walk in San Antonio, TX is very pretty. Quote
pam Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 San Diego, California is an awesome city to visit. But then again I'm very biased. Quote
BenRaines Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 If you want entertainment and you have lots of money then Las Vegas. If not don't come here unless to gamble, drink and do what stays in Vegas. Yosemite in California is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. DC is cool and for citizens of US I think Philadelphia has some great US history. Ben Raines Quote
Guest the_big_picture Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 Thankyou for your advices. Maybe I will visit the white house if a democrat is president.San Diego seems nice, but I have relatives there and in Son Jose, And Im scared they will force us to come over and be with them during a weekation when you suppose to have a good time. If you want entertainment and you have lots of money then Las Vegas. If not don't come here unless to gamble, drink and do what stays in Vegas.I dont get a kick out of gambling, but It sure is a lot of other enterteinments.Yosemite in California is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.I did a google search its realy nice, the perfet place to take my girlfriend. stellati Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 One of my favorite places to visit has been Seattle washington. It is such a beautiful city. There is a lot of stuff to see (space needle, Mt. Rainier (if you like skiing), Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...etc...etc..etc...) If you get bored with Seattle, just hop on a ferry and go to BEAUTIFUL Victoria, BC, Canada. See, the Empress Hotel, Parliament (sp?) building and, of course, Buchart Gardens. After that, take the ferry through the San Juan Islands back to seattle for a beautiful view. It would be a very easy going trip, not rushed at all. Another of my favorites is DC. There is SOOOOOO much to see. The museums, historical landmarks... The history of the USA just comes alive in that city...for good reason. BUT, of ALL the places I have EVER been (which is only a few) I would go back to Hawaii. It's just so....easy going and warm and beautiful and entertaining and peaceful. About Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a fun place to visit but... More often than not I have had bad experiences in Las Vegas. After my several visits to Las Vegas I have pretty much decided that if all you want to do is spend money, you will great time. Las Vegas is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. The only thing to do there is gamble (spend money), Shop (spend money) and sun worship pool side while sipping drinks (spend money). I'd make it a side trip. Like make Las Vegas a connection where you spend the night of something. You can see nearly everything in one night. BUT, that's my opinion. Quote
FrankJL Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 I'm sorry, but are you talking about a Vacation?? Or In Other Words, could you please explain what weekation means??? I do believe this is what he means. He's Finnish, and I know nothing about that language, but if its like German the "w" has a "v" sound, so I'm assuming he's just sounding out the word to spelling.I could be wrong...just my guess. sixpacktr Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 TBP, When you say "New York", do you mean the city or New York State? Western NY and Eastern Ohio have lots of Church sites: Palmyra, Hill Cumorah, Kirtland, etc. Pls you have Niagara Falls, etc. There is a lot to do if you are looking to visit church sites, etc. Quote

I have been to Niagra Falls...it is breathtaking. Also there is Watkins Glen state park, the water fall and gorge there is three times higher than Niagra Falls. I also recomend Howe Caverns. A HUGE undergroung cave with catacomes and that too, is breath taking. Then there is the Corning glass musium. They blow glass right in front of you and will make whatever you draw for them, whatever you want...they make it out of blown glass and you can buy it. You should SEE the stuff they have for sale!!!!! AMAZING!!!!Then, of course, there are the historical church sites, and the thousand Islands and the Aderondack state park...New York is GREAT!!!!!!!! (If I do say so myself!) Quote
Outshined Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 I just spent a week in Williamsburg, Virginia, and it was pretty amazing. They have people living and working in 18th-century conditions, the way they did then. You can interact with the residents, watch them work, and ask about how things were done. You can also visit Yorktown and Jamestown (Jamestown has several authentic sailing ships in the harbor you can tour) in the same area, with similar "living museums". We had a blast! Quote
pam Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 There are so many amazing things to see in the US. I've always said my dream is to one day visit England. Yet you could spend a lifetime trying to see all the glories that the US has to offer. Quote
Guest the_big_picture Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 A map of diffrent places sounds good, but dont you need to have an american citizenship to rent a car? Quote
