'Xylophone' starts a sentence that begins with 'X'.

Yes, it's another of those annoying, cheating fill-in-the-blank generic self-referential phrases that can be used for any letter. Again, if you can do better, please do so.

Already done twice -- and with the same color. Too easy and obvious. We need something better.

Out of alphabetical order. For shame.

I will grant, I have always been a poor one for paying attention to, understanding, or much caring about instructions. To be fair, I did not read the title of the thread, and totally missed the A-Z thing, and it was not reiterated in the first post instructions. I have also never participated in any of the other A-Z games because the A-Z thing makes me uncomfortable. :)

My bad.

I thought of xanthic, too, but the rules call for words that describe the words themselves and not specific instances of words on a page.  By that logic, juxtaposed is also disqualified.

However, there is a language called Xhosa, and I guessed that the Xhosa word for "the Xhosa language" would be Xhosa or something starting with X.  I guessed wrong.  "Xhosa" in Xhosa is "isiXhosa," and we already have an answer for "i".

By that logic:

Uh oh, here we go with the "-less" words again.

Final post?

* Come on now! That's ^ awesome, right? Self referential via question. :)

But it only works if it's true, which would be a crying shame.

The question mark makes it work even if it isn't true. It's still a sentence that's asking if it's the final post, even if it's not the final post (which it's not).
