I can actually respect his belief to not read other things (to some degree). I refuse to read anti-Mormon literature. Even if said literature is given to me by well-meaning, loving individuals who are only concerned about me. I know my weaknesses and I know how that literature would affect me. So, I refuse to even glance at it.

But, I am curious that if Byron won't read articles even about scripture, how did he even know about the Book of Mormon and what makes him curious about it?

I can understand it to a point to, but Bryon needs to understand the limits that places on him..  Its kinda like if an atheist was bombarding Bryon with the standard "Atheist counter to the bible questions."  The atheist claims to want to 'learn more' but will not take Bryon invitation to read the Bible, because he doesn't want to clutter his head with mythologies and other "untruths"

One can "respect" that position but you know they aren't going to really "learn" or "understand" anything about your views until they do.

@Mordorbound, actually no. I have, thus far, refused to read anything spiritual other than the bible because I believe the Bible is the complete word of God. I do not even read books (about scripture) written by people of the same Church as me because I believe discussion about God should take place between two people so that God is there among them. it is also for this reasoning that I try to stay away from posted articles about scripture that many of you have suggested I read.

I know this may seem rather closed minded to some. But I know my weaknesses and without being able to question something I will either believe it or discount it and may lose something in the process.

"If I don't already believe it, I can't read to it or I might believe it."

Yes, that is closed minded.  And it makes all this discussion rather pointless.  In fact, it is self-deceptive.

Why would you bother listening to any anti-Mormon words if you read no other spiritual work other than the Bible?

Does it not occur to you that to hear anything positive or negative about another's faith is ALSO a spiritual discussion?

Why would you bother asking any Mormons any questions about their religion if you read nothing but the Bible?

It is impossible to discuss any book with any degree of logic if you haven't read it.  Thus all your posts are now moot.

I really think you haven't thought this through.
