Latter-Day Marriage
A few years ago, my 2nd oldest daughter fell in love with a non-member boy. He was a good person, but not raised with all the same standards and sadly they wound up doing some things they should not have done. They got a civil marriage, moved out west, and had a beautiful baby girl. Our daughter was going to church but he would usually work on Sunday or sleep if he wasn't working. My wife and I flew out to give our grandchild a name and a blessing and he was going to come for that but he was called into work that morning and had to miss it. My daughter asked for a father's blessing when we were getting ready to head to the airport to go back, and when I was done I asked him if he wanted one too. He was surprised but said yes. A week later our daughter tells us that he 'felt something' and he asked to take the missionary lessons. A month later he asked if I would fly back and baptize him. This past weekend my wife and I escorted them through the temple and watched them sealed to each other and to their daughter.
