Are you refering to Democrats, Republicians or politicians in general?  One defination of "priestcraft" from the Book of Mormon is someone that is more worried about their position (maintaining their office) than they are the law.

In this specific case, I'm referring to Democrats, but my comment is generally applicable. Amorality is no better than immorality. Those who claim exemption from hypocrisy because they don't support any standards at all are not to be praised or emulated.

I agree. I think it's better to admit there are standards and have a hard time keeping them than just saying "Eh, anything goes."

President Uchtdorf is exactly right. To some degree we are all hypocrites. No one practices what they believe 100% of the time.

I've always thought of myself as a male feminist, so I guess that does me in too.

The wonderful part about it is that the left dislikes me because I'm not a whack job leftist and the right dislikes me because I dare to think for myself on gender issues.

One of the big issues with the modern-day "feminist" movement is that a rather distinct "us vs. them" mentality has emerged among many of the practitioners. This has allowed con artists, predators, and others to infiltrate the movement, as all they've got to do is say the right things, play to the right fears, claim the right enemies, and they're golden. They're now an "us", so they're accepted without question.

Hence the viper's nest that has taken up residence in the larger movement.

I wish you great success in your battle against feminism. Fight on.

Actually, it's the corruption and ignorance I'm going after.

...And to be brutally honest, I'm not the one who fired the first shot. It'd chill your blood if you read any of the flak I've gotten over the years for not going with the flow on some things.

Me: "That person you're all listening to and nodding? One of the arguments she made is based on what appears to be her not being familiar with the particular law she's referencing. Here's the actual text of the law, here's the interpretations of two law firms and a criminal justice professor, and here's how people in the actual jurisdiction understand it. As we can plainly see, the law doesn't allow for what she says it allows for, and so the consequences of the hypothetical raised are 180 from what she says they supposedly are."

Speaker's defenders: "You dare to question a woman?! Go kill yourself!"

-> paraphrase of a blow-up that happened back in September.

Good luck with that too.
