This is the part I disagree with, completely. Fine, OK, you want to have a fictional discussion, whatever. But if you want to discuss the realities of the gospel of Jesus Christ, then the argument does not hold, at all. Quote
mikbone Posted February 12, 2023 Report Posted February 12, 2023 (edited) Not sure if it makes a difference but the model should be attributed to the Apostle John A. Widtsoe just as much as Cleon Skousen, if not more. The point is, if we don’t follow Jesus Christ and His Father in this life, we will suffer, and still have to bend our knee and honor Him. Satan will be bound as well. Heavenly Father doesn’t need us, but He loves us and wants us to succeed. There never was a possibility that God would cease to be God. It’s fun to wonder from which fount God’s power arises. Magic Science Artificial Intelligence Priesthood If we look at John Widtsoe’s life. He did his best to be a scientist, farmer, author, apostle, etc… A real modern day Renaissance Man. Maybe if we had a motivation to garner honor and not shrink, we would be better off. And it just might help us to follow Christ as well. Instead of building Towers of Babel. Edited February 12, 2023 by mikbone Quote
CrimsonKairos Posted February 12, 2023 Report Posted February 12, 2023 God’s glory is Light & Truth: He has all of it. He wants all of us to have all of it too, but only if we sincerely desire it. Apparently this mortal flesh (which veils us from His and our own full Light) and its attendant darkness is a necessary step in preparing our consciousness to receive all Light and Truth. Quote
