checkerboy Posted March 2, 2008 Author Report Posted March 2, 2008 Ok here is a church related one that drives me crazy. When someone ends a talk or a testimony by saying in the name of THY son, Jesus Christ. I wanna say wait a minute my sons names are Josh and Peter not Jesus Christ. Quote
skalenfehl Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Funny stuff. Here in Utah people tend to say "acrossed" as in "Run that beam acrossed that wall". Where ever did someone come up with that version of the word? There is no tense in the word "across". Quote
Palerider Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Here in the Midwest you will hear a line like this........I am going to warsh the dishes....or warsh the car......LOL!!!!!!!!!!When you ask them to spell warsh...they will spell it....wash....but it gets pronounced...."warsh" Quote
pam Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Or in Utah they pronounce the word mountain as mouain. I'm like...There is a "T" in mountain. Drives me crazy. Quote
skalenfehl Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 "most unique"If it is unique, then it is already different than everything else in its category, and does not need the "most."ElphieAh, but what if you put all the unique things from each category in a pool. Which is considered the "most unique" or are they all equally unique? Quote

Flyonthewall Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Also in Utah, especially in the Spanish "Fark" area, even college educated people say things like "I seen you at the store yesterday", or "We was at the store yesterday". (subject and verb don't match) Quote
