Hi Carl, i must have missed your very kind reply to my post, thank you. Carl you say "I do not know the LDS Heavenly father" Carl rest assured my friend that Heavenly father does indeed know you, (you are his son) and he knows that a seed has been planted, he also knows of the good work that you do here "amongst" his saints. But i feel you are a kind person who does indeed know what you call the "LDS" heavenly father, one day carl you are going to be kicked up the backside by the Holy Ghost, and you will be overcome and then you will know just where that kick came from. :) God bless you Carl.

Hi Brian, welcome to the best LDS discussion forums on the net. You will find so much help here from very good people, i have not been here that long myself but i have learned so much from those i hope understand where i am coming from, some on here can be quite Stearn but they are harmless lol, and they really do mean well. Well Brothers and Sisters, again Satan shows his hand, and again he helps to strenghen our testimonies, When he does bad towards us, when he sends his troops in to beguile us, and ridicule and taunt us, it only serves to strengthen our/heavenly fathers cause. As i have said before " I will worry when Ol nick leaves us alone" It would mean that " The church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints" was not the one true church that is on the earth today, but i know it is, and it dug me out from the pit i was in. How frustrated Satan must get, for the harder he tries to destroy what we know is of heaven, the stronger we get, when he sends his troops to destroy what we have, the stronger our testimonies become. Bit of an ol sour puss aint he. He can never ever take away what you have been blessed with by your father in heaven, he may destroy your bodies but he will not destroy your love and devotion to your father who looks down upon you from the heavens above and is well pleased.

I am programmed in some way as to love everyone, how about Satan, if i could hate him then i could hate anybody, but Satan is also my brother, i cannot hate him, i know he is not to be followed, i know there is only one path that leads back home, so do not get me wrong here guys, but i can not learn to love everyone but with one exception, that would be impossible for anyone "wouldn't it" lol. Ah i see, i could therefor allow myself to fall from the lds faith because of my pride and vanity and it would be my own doing and would have nothing to do with temptation of Satan, just that i have been told since joining the church to be on the lookout for that old deceiver Satan that would try to tempt me from the church. This is not a sarcastic response, please do not think of it that way, just trying to get my head around things (getting a headache now) lol. So do you think we can be Bad/evil without satans help. If not then i feel Satan must have had some help along the way, but from where i could not even hazard a guess.

Hi Deseretgov. I thought (i may be wrong) that there was only good in heaven, and that evil/bad things were put into our thoughts by satan (whilst we are on earth) wouldent satan still have had to be lead down the wrong path by something tempting him along the way, by planting those bad thoughts into him. Surely being a spirit child of Heavenly father he wouldent have come into existance with these things, but who knows the full workings of heaven, not me thats for sure. Thats why i thought this thread would be going to deep.

Hi guys and girls. Just a thought, but with Satan being such a bad spirit, where did the temptation into such bad ways come from. I myself have no answers on this, maybe its to deep but i have this in my head and wondered if anyone else had any views on said topic. Mods if this is to much please feel free to remove.

Grace alone = walking around like a zombie, not getting involved with other peoples problems, no need for companionship, no need to show others the love and kindness of Christ, keeping ones self to ones self, no need for fellowship towards others. (just truly believe in heavenly father and Jesus) Works alone = Being a good member of society, showing kindness towards others less fortunate than ones self, getting yourself involved with others problems, showing them kindness, love, and companionship. ( sorry not good enough in the eyes of heavenly father) Grace and works = Now we have a good combination of what heavenly father and Jesus would have us commit to, We are now showing them just how commited to them we really are. you cannot be like Jesus Christ by only believing that he is the only begotten son of God. Rachell, you are a child of god, and that is exactly how he see's you, his baby if you like, he knows what you are going through, he is not going to leave you comfortless because you do not know exactly what to do, you are not sinning, your mind is in a turmoil, you are a human being with a human beings traits. I am sure there are lots of saints that are feeling the way that you do at the moment with so much controversy on the subjects going on at the moment. Heavenly father has a plan and part of his plan (not mankind's) is that marriage is to be between a man and a woman, that is just the way it is, we need to bring spirits into the world, and its the union between the two sexes that allows this to happen. This is a god given thing, it is not of this world, we are not of this world, we are a peculiar people. Heavenly father will not change this part of his divine plan just to satisfy certain individuals who want these things, (i do not mean yourself rachell) in order for their own plan for mankind. You are truly loved, do not let that old adversary lead you astray Rachell, he is trying to do just that, it is Satan trying to put the doubt in your mind, and the Holy spirit is fighting for you, this is why you are in such turmoil, not knowing what way to turn, but let your spirit stick to the Holy spirit and Heaven will win in the end, i promise. Remember also, every Saint that visits this board will be fighting with you, we will do our very best to fight with you along the way. Now go to your corner and come out fighting with The Banner of Heaven.

Totally agree, i think it is more common than people realize. It happened to my brother in law, the grocer shop he had went down the pan, he told my sister all was fine at work, turns out he was going out and wandering the streets, the business was gone 3 months previous, nobody knew until he had a nervous breakdown in the street and ended up in hospital. So be gentle with your husband please as you/we do not know what he may be going through.

Believing in our leaders and following their teachings and advise is good, if in the end some of this advise turns out to be contrary to what heavenly father would have us do then it will not be us that will be judged for those actions, we have been told to listen and follow our church leaders. Back to the original question. If you believe that Brother Joseph did indeed see heavenly father and Jesus, and that he was a Prophet , and you believe in the basics that the church is the true church restored on the earth, well you "WILL" seek to become a part of it, the holy spirit will see to that lol. And If you fight against the Holy spirit it is fighting against gods will, "then i feel" It is better a man had not been born at all. Strong words i know, but i did say that it was what i feel. (dont tell me off snow lol). If one believes the church to be true then it is the Holy Spirit that has manifest this unto you. With so much bad/sad written and said about "The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints" Heavenly father has set a spark, to communicate with your spirit for to guide you home, so allow the spirit to carry you back, and to complete the mission that you set out on from before your birth.

Hmm, just a Logical thought. Whilst Jesus was on the earth, who was listening to the peoples prayers in Heaven. As i have said many times, the scriptures are not there just for scholars/learned people, they are there for everyone who would take the time to read/hear the word of heavenly father, so doesn't it stand to reason that these words would be simple enough for all to understand. When Jesus prayed to his father in heaven, that's it, he prayed to his father in heaven, where is the argument in that, what is there to not understand, where is the confusion. Jesus is the "WORD" the word of the one who sent him, who is his, and our heavenly father, simple isn't it. No wonder that there is a need for a Prophet to sort out all the confusion amongst our fathers children concerning the the word of god, that was written for all mankind. Heavenly father is an unchanging god, he is not a respecter of persons, so his words are plain and simple for everyone., so read them and ponder a while, then you will see what a delight these words really are. I know this is so simple it may pass over some peoples heads but i will say it anyway. If i sent my child to the shop with a note to get milk i would not expect him to read this simple instruction and him to think to himself, Hmm dad has written milk but i "think" he really means eggs. Why oh why can the bible not be read as it is, if we read it as i am sure heavenly father meant it to be read, then i do believe there would be just the one christian religion. If Jesus was God/heavenly father, then he would have had to be praying to an even higher god, which i am sure he was not, he was praying to his father and the father of us all who is in heaven The Holy Bible is there to Guide us, not to confound us, i am sure of this. I thank god for a Prophet to guide us. I am not looking to cause any bad feeling, i have written these simple words as the spirit would move me, so that all will know and understand what i am saying.

Did man evolve to look the way he does today? or has he always looked the same, from the beginning of his existence on this gods earth, remember this little quote, "man was created in gods image". Can one believe in the evolution of man, and still believe in heavenly father? We are created in God's image In the Old Testament God said, "Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness" (Genesis 1:26)

Hi there dalpres, just quickie to remind you that the Uk is not a country, it is made up of four different countries, England, (where i am from), Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, each is run by their own elected Governments. But you do probably know this anyway.

Can somebody go on a mission full of the spirit if he or she is only going to keep their family happy, i feel one must want to go on a mission for his/her mission to be a success. I have met some lovely guys and girls who were pushed into a mission, either by family or ward members, i have seen at least three sent home before fulfilling their mission because they were so unhappy, that their heart was just not in it. I do not think heavenly father would be happy with those that done the pushing, but i do know that he would be happy that they were home again and on their way to recovery, Just imagine how they must have felt on arriving home. I do hope that they were not whispered about and pointed at. So don't be selfish, in order to look good to others, please show our young that they will be loved no matter what they choose. As already said, there are lots of good things to be done in our own wards, Push these youngsters and they will fall away, they will resent the church, ok not all those that are pushed fail i know this, but i myself would not take the chance of them falling away because of something i did, for i would not want to be answerable before heavenly father. "ALL" these young people are the future of "The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints" God bless them.
