  1. Yeah i have like 2 grand worth of musical equipment i haven't used since my garage band days. Some day pull it out and start to play again, some day.
  2. Don't know how many people here watch southpark but they had a funny episode on the Guitar hero craze when Stans dad comes out to show them how to play the songs for real they tell him how lame it is and play it on guitar hero instead. Now they have one for skateboarding. Why go out get exercise and learn a new skill when you can play a video game version:lol:
  3. I think this a "worldly" idea like "will there be football in heaven?" Taking earthy wants desires and need, and applying them to eternity. This idea seems to make marriage "the ultimate goal" and i don't think it is. I see eternal marriage as a way of God saying, "you don't have to choose, if you spend your life serving me, and your spouse, i will let your relationship continue on the other side if you do what you are supposed to." Plus i think marriage serves the purpose of "filling a hole" in this life, i don't think this hole would be there, for single, when living with God. As a married man i'm sad when i have to spend long periods of time without my wife. When i see a movie, or a funny situation, play with the kids, see nice classic car etc. i think man i wish i could share this moment with her. Because i know she would enjoy it however when i was single i never thought, "wow look at that 68 fastback mustang, sure wish i had a wife here with me to see it. I don't think the desire or need to be married in the spiritworld will be as prominent. I think it will be like any other thing we missed out on in the past life. like "Awe Shucks i never got around to going to law school and winning the big case. O well I'm here with God and it doesn't matter anymore"" just my opinion
  4. I don't even eat leftover. of course i'm so weird If i have worn pair of sock, even only for a minute, and took them off they are dirty and i wont put them back on.
  5. I think it's ridiculous. It it was safety issue, no hair over the ears so they can see for BOYS and GIRLS i could understand but it's not. It's like telling girls they can't wear pants, or play football because they are meant for boys.
  6. Because it show the error of the ideas of predestination and limited atonement. I think the closest one can come to understanding God in this life is being a parent. As parents we love our kids so much that sometimes we have to punish them to teach them. We call this unconditional love. Because our relationship with God is so similar (IMO) we apply the same term. We could say Gods love is conditional on your willingness to follow the rules but it wouldn't fit in with our world views as we don't love our kids any less when we punish them.
  7. So under that tough gingerbread exterior you're just soft cookie dough. I knew it.
  8. Yes the love is unconditional. The problem is people commonly confuse love and acceptance.
  9. I don't make my bed every day but whenever i make a bed i use hospital corners. Would do a dust cover if i had extra bedding.
  10. He probably wont work for cookies or stickers will he?:)
  11. shhhh. Your blowing my job opportunity:)
  12. No. A rule in my house if for my children to clean their rooms. This is the "great commandment" and rewarded with a prize. However because there are distractions i have given extra guidelines to help them keep this commandment. No tv or play time until your room is clean. Will playing keep them from their prize, it tv bad? No unless it keeps them from doing what they are supposed to do.
  13. I would remind this young man that there are members of this church who sleep with their family in one room shacks on dirt floors. I would remind him that there are members who save for years just to go to the nearest temple. I would remind him of more of that talk While everyone can't serve a full time mission, every member can be a missionary.
  14. Amen. My wife's family lives in one part of the country, mine in another, we live far away so many of our holidays are spent in those long car rides with the kids, cramming all 5 of us into a guest bedroom when we get there, rushing home to get everything done before returning to school, work etc. But not this year.
  15. Are you kidding me? Santa has an army of the worlds best craftsman at his disposal. They will build a boat. Of course this mean limited supplies for toys and Christmas might be "lean" for a couple of years but they will manage.
  16. It's not the generic answer, it's the official answer.
  17. Hordak "sees" friend John from behind at the store. "John". "John" "Hey John" "John!" "John" turns around to reveal it is in fact NOT John. Thinking quickly "John, hold up. I see down there" As he walks past the confused person he just misidentified. "I'm on my way"
  18. It can happen to guys also. Once when staying at a friends house i was using the bathroom and it had one of those thick decorative cozies on the lid which upsets the balance. So I'm doing my thing when the lid comes hurling at me. Suddenly my instincts kick in, unfortunately stopping isn't one of them. So the reaction is to drop what's in my hand to catch the lid and hop back away from the object coming towards a sensitive area at the same time. To this day if i use a restroom with a lid cozie, i take it off first.
  19. He lives at the mall. Everyone knows that.
  20. I swear i've seen that before but have never been. Is that modeled after Kirkland?
  21. First thing that popped into my head when i read the title. Exec. Sec.:)
  22. I thought about doing one of those though i don't know if it would be worth it. My Great Grandfathers on both Mom and Dads side were 1st born Americans and know where the Great Greats immigrated from. I have heard they a good for people with no idea of where they are from but from what i have seen they don't get too in depth, I think Africa is broken into Four groups.
  23. i hate youtube. No i don't i was watching vids yesterday. Nothing has changed:mad:
  24. You know i have problems with Geneology. My last name doesn't sound like it is written in English and i constantly have to spell it out for people.Plus the spelling changes between Great great grandpa and great Grandpa. Not sure if people heard GGG grandpa wrong( he and his wife were non fluent English speaking immigrant) and the old spelling is wrong or if they Americanized his sons name in school, as the story goes, and the new spelling is incorrect but stuck around. But with such a common last name like Brown genealogy must really be difficult. Good job.
  25. there is no word on in that sentence that's my way of saying don't {dirty language} Christmas. Without the bad launguage Pretty clever huh?
