What do you believe happens for you in the next life after you follow so hard to be perfect in all these things..???
-
Travelor am I reading your post correctly?? Are you trying to speculate that we could have helped with creation in the pre-existence? I am sorry if that is not what you are saying. I don't want to misquote you..but if you are..I'll I can think of is God slamming Job for his self-righteous attitude..and he tells Job "where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth" and he goes on and puts job in his place..it reminds me I am Not God will never be God! He is perfect and I am not

now that thought opens up a whole new set of worms..lol...did jesus really appear to Joseph or some other spirit?? Was their an apostasy. i am having a hard time historically backing up joseph smiths claims.
-
That is a great quote now is another question in regards to that quote. I read it somewhere..here goes..If grace alone with out works (not a lisence to sin) is true then everybody is else is going to hell for eternal damination..but if Mormonism is true ..someone like me would still go to one of the levels of heaven.
-
so let me see if I understand this correctly...is it safe to say that for you salvation starts at baptism and continues into the ordinances to recieve the highest level of exlatation of the heavens. If you just stopped at baptisim you would get into heaven but not the highest level right?

Real Id, invisiable ink and mark of beast.

You are correct. :) Cashless society is not in the bible. -
i dont' understand why you do not believe he created out of nothing. If you do a hebrew word study on it that is exactly what you come up.. Look at this site..http://www.bcmmin.org/create.html....a complete explanation as to bara..to anybody interested.. He spoke and there was light..he formed man from the dust of the ground.. etc etc....matter is in everything..and I agree with your definition of matter by the way. :)

apple a couple of things i was wondering if you would respond to in your post for me? As I am still asking more and more difficult questions.:) 1. What scripture in the bible supports the idea that Jesus is our brother? 2. Why would you take things outside of lds a grain of salt? Is this taught in the church to take things non lds a grain of salt or to have no validity?

Someone on the forum said that "The temple is part of salvation" could someone explain this to me? No one on here has mentioned this in all the talk of faith/works for salvation conversations.
-
i had started a thread called john 3:16 and in it we discussed faith/works.but no one ever mentioned the temple as part of their salvation plan...could you explain this to me? Also if you could explain why someone can't smoke before being baptized? Are there other things that one can or can't do before being baptized lds?

Some of you are aware of the growing concern with the real id act and the patriot act we are facing soon. But are you aware of the National Social secruity card with RFID...go to JBS Action Alert: Oppose H.R. 5405 and a Social Security/National ID Card | The John Birch Society - Truth, Leadership, Freedom to learn about this beast hitting our congress currently... There is also SOMark..which invented invisiable ink? Sounds sci-fi doesn't it? Currently it is used in cattle..but would you ever think that we would live in a day where we will see our bible unfolding right before our eyes? The bible says there will be a day will no one will able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast on their hand or forehead..a cashless society. Wow..and now we have the technology to do just that.

The idea that matter can not be created or destroyed is questioned among scientist and is not a proven fact. Which goes back to the idea are we letting science teach us about creation or letting the bile teach us about creation and then finding the science to support it? Ken Ham research is amazing. Look him up. But there are others out there too.

who is right the lds or the Flds??
lostnfound replied to lostnfound's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Thank you for telling them to not attack me personally for these resources do not reflect my testimony to you..of What Jesus Christ has done in my life..and the Grace he has bestowed upon me. If I wanted to get a scripted responce I could just pull up any of these books but like I said before people are way more complex then a book. :):) -
You would love Ray vanderlaan and his video series. He goes into all of that. Talking about baal, and god of pan and apolla and then the earyly church.

lostnfound replied to lostnfound's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Thank you for the post or the clarification. I am just going to let this one go. No need to get into an arguement over petty things. But i have never heard that word? Is it an official lds teaching? Where did the word come from? Is it in scripture somewhere? -

Thank you Bethie for these videos. I about cried to watching them. These poor children really not understandng everything. especially the little ones. -
Yeah, I don't think is any contridiction in these references. A true saving faith will produce works..but works does not justify you..only faith.. James and paul did not disagree in the slightest.. :):):) as far as to your other question. I posted orginally to get some questions answered..which I have a great deal. Thank you to those that responded to my original post in great clarity. and any other thread I proposed a question about. And then this thread john 3:16 thread took a life of its own and other things got brought up. but I had to clarify works/faith..The topic was too serious of an issue for me to just ignore.:)

mcarthur contridicts lds theology. He does not say that he agrees with lds doctrine at all.
-
you are right. he doesn't totally agree with mcarthur but just closer to his views then hodges. I don't agree with Jeff. Obviously. You really have to read the book without a commentary to understand what mcarthur was saying. And he can explain much better then I can. Jeff is obviously in my opinion saying you know what lds this is why I can't agree with this because it contridicts lds theology. Which it does. The biblical refrences in regards to faith/work..which ones are you referring to?
-
Here is the post i was looking for to reference romans chapter 6. I completely agree with you. But remember earlier when I gave the definitions of justifican santification..etc..??? Once you are justified unto righteousiness by Faith then a continual santification happens..remember when paul talked about "I try to do the right things..I want to do the right things..but I constantly find myself doing what is wrong?" He was absoutly correct. and God tells us in his word when we repent he is quick to forgive us. He tells us to be like him and that we can have victory over sin because now we have the Holy spirit living inside of us. Will we ever be like him? No...we can become more and more like his character over time but we will never Be him..we will never become God ..but that is another topic: :)
-
The gospel according to Jesus" John mcarthur. you can even google him.
-
okay here it is the scriptrue in Romans chapter 6..you have to read it in context to understand it...This is where Paul talks about sin and living under the law and now we under grace..so what about sin now?

I'm not ragging on catholics. Some of my closest dearest friends are catholics. One can point out a dogma of a church with ragging on its people.
-
Instresting conclusion for sure. But did you ever read the passage in acts. What did the jailer say to paul? What must I do to be saved? Did paul come back with a bunch of do's and don'ts?? No. He said Believe in the Lord Jesus christ. and the whole household was saved. Acutally can you find one example where he told anybody do a do or a don't? I can't..
