  1. Here is something interesting: Egg donation clinic with available egg donors - Chicago IL, Milwaukee, WI California Cryobank - The Leading Donor Sperm Bank For those interested in the science of donor programs.
  2. I think a military experiment unleashes a strain of virus that kills off most of mankind and leaves a few surviving mutants who form a strange religious cult and try to kill what few humans were left unaffected. Heston has a natural immunity and tries to protect a few teenage and younger people unaffected. Interestingly enough, as movie trivia, since Michael Moore tried to make Heston look like a racist in his so-called documentary movie I would note that the female lead for Heston (which he chose) was black.
  3. Isn't it a re-make of Charton Heston's early 1970s movie "Omega Man"?
  4. Waterhorse was an excellent movie I thought. Pan's Labyrenth was really well done but very dark. Well done though. I have heard that "I am Legend" is excellent so I need to watch that soon. Not sure if Golden Compass is out on video but since it is based on books promoting atheism I think I'd let my kids watch "Planet Terror" instead. Actually, Planet Terror was a pretty good flick -- but a bit more gory than the typical flesh-eating zombie movies. Anyone see "28 Weeks Later"? Just wondering if it is any good.
  5. Photo posted at FreeRepublic.com I actually have always been a supporter of the environment but it seems many people who arecalling themselves environmentalists today are turning it into a religion. As for the picture above I’ll bet Sigmund Freud would say these young women’s desire to save “Mother Earth” is merely displased yearnings to become mothers themselves. Most enviro zealots have a pretty low birthrate so this becomes a vicious cycle — instead of becomming pregnant and satisfying maternal needs they project these feelings on animals. They become brainwashed to believe that having kids is bad for the environment so this pits their yearnings for children against their new “parental responsibility” to “save the earth”. This causes a great deal of pent up hostility to those who question them on their “sacrifice” yet their social circle will continually discourage childbearing. Thus, in the end, all you may have is a burned out crazy middle aged cat lady wearing Birkenstocks and showing up for earth day celebrations.
  6. Estonia Wins World Wife-Carrying Contest |Sky News|World News Now here's a sport that American couples would never stand a chance at winning against Finns and Estonians -- you figure that one out- Wife carrying contest! Wife carrying - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  7. In LDS culture 30 is considered middle age -- hey, once read that in an editorial in a Church publication. In the general population 30 is considered still quite young -- and 50-55 is middle age. Maybe that has something to do with it. I actually have a huge gripe at the way the segregation takes place. I have known men in their early 30s who are recent converts or divorced. They show up to a singles activity and the women there are all the ages of their mothers and commenting on how their kids are the same age as him. Needless to say they never return. On the other hand you have men go on missions, go to college and then marry some 19 year old who just started out in the young adult program. Any women unfortunant enough to make it to their mid 20s and not get married in in a limbo because they certainly aren't going to want to go to the over 30 granny activities but they aren't of interest to the RMs by and large or the batch of 18 and 19 year old guys still wearing their pants around their knees and sporting baseball caps on backwards. So most of these mid to late 20 something females just start dating non-members just like the 30 something (and even 40 something) single men are dating non-member females. It's not the intention of the program but it is the result. I will note that most of the 30 somethings and 40 somethings usually find single women of the mid 20 and mid 30 female (non-member) category while many of the LDS gals find men who are older who are non-members. My solution? Obolish the age segregation completely. That's right, just get rid of it. If some 18 year old member finds love with a 33 year old active LDS man then so what????? She's as likely to get attention from non-member guys who are older in the real world so why not place people all together in an LDS environment so pairing can be more likely to occur between active members?
  8. My two favorite bands from Finland: YouTube - Nightwish - Nemo (full) I've heard that both groups are composed of Christian band members. A rarety in Scandinavian music I suppose.
  9. Wouldn't make that a partisan issue though -- Democrats supported the Iraq War as well. Interesting, the Democrats try to portray themselves as the peace party yet just the other day a prominant US Democratic senator said that if Iran were to attack Israel with a nuke then she would support the US "exterminating" the people of Iran. Never heard Bush ever make such a statement.
  10. What the heck? Was your teacher wearing a Che T-shirt and love beads at the time?
  11. Wonder if Harry Reid would be ever considered for a place on the Supreme Court. Yes, he's the majority leader of the senate (and a lifelong Democrat) but he is opposed to abortion and the Democratic Party sees abortion as the ultimate litmus test in regards to judicial appointments.
  12. Not sure on that one. From my understanding unless implantation has taken place then you have not commited abortion. If that did constitute abortion then, from what I have heard, any woman on several types of birth control pills would be doing a homemade abortion every month that her egg got fertilized but was not allowed to implant.
  13. Just by coincidence (I think) April 22nd. is also this famous red head's birthday!
  14. Good thing the Founding Fathers of the USA didn't subscribe to "submission to the powers of government". Also, anyone interested in how the USA has used advanced psychology to alter societal values as well as controling the masses should view "The Century of the Self" at Video Google. Parts 2 and 3 will explain more than you may want to become aware of though.
  15. Hey, let's have a bit of trust for our government -- it's not like our law enforcement agencies have ever done anything like steal hundreds of children from their parents or our intelligence agencies administer LSD to unsuspecting people to see if it could have applications in societal mind control. Only governments like Iran, China or Russia would do that.
  16. Wow, sounds a lot like how they do it in Sweden! The second half (when you mention home schooling) isn't part of their system though as countries like Germany, Sweden and Belgium are a little scared to allow individual parents too many rights over their kids.
  17. Uh, did you read my thread? I used the term in a hypothetical sense. Go back and re-read it if you wish.
  18. Like I said in a previous thread, there was a Mormon fertility doctor who used his own sperm for his patients rather than using ordered donor material. He fathered at least 70 kids that way. From my understanding the local LDS Church community was totally there to support him and defend him when all this came out. A Mormon businessman in Australia a few years back was making a strong appeal for people to follow his example and donate -- there are shortages of donors in many countries (not the USA though as the US companies involved in egg and sperm donation pay the donors money). I see nothing really morally wrong with this -- expecially since (I have read) that prospective donor recipients are screened as well to try to find if there are any reasons they should not be helped to become a parent.
  19. Since when was the GH cannonized as scripture????
  20. Thirty year age difference -- just saw this story about Putin: Putin secretly divorces his wife and marries rhythmical gymnast Alina Kabaeva? - Pravda.Ru Oh well, the younger generation in Russia is totally into Putin anyway -- check out the Putin music video:
  21. Chocolate chip cookie dough -- with a little ice cream mixed in!
  22. I really hope that in the end Texas will have to raise taxes in order to cover these expenses. It will then cause a public uproar that will hopefully cost some politicians and elected local law enforcement their jobs.
  23. Unless, of course, your bishop is a fertility specialist -- then he might be able to point out some database for couples desiring such services. As to the issue of surrogacy, sperm donation and egg donation all I have to say is that if you tell your bishop you donate there is nothing I know of that could allow him to deny you a temple recommend. As for surrogacy, to each their own. I recently read an article about an Indian fertility specialist who links up infertile couples in places like England with women in the village that will become surrogates. They demand less money than western women I would assume. Talk about outsourcing! As for people who are intelligent and genetically healthy (and interested in sperm or egg donation) one can do a quick search on the internet for locations that may be close to where you live.
  24. Sad, that just shows how far away from original Biblical principles our society has drifted.
  25. That's great! Although I have never been harassed by anyone when I take my kids to the store or anything like that. Always wanted the opportunity to have an obnoxious person do this but they just don't. Oh well.
