Today is day 5 and my hardest as I am doing the gate at the basket ball game and I am right next to concessions ... mmmmmmm pretzels with cheese .... chili cheese nachos mmmmmmmc candy bars,,,,,, soda,,,,ok all done with that I will be ok planning is everything and am bringing eggs yumm and some beans and drinking my protein shake and bringing some nuts so will get back this challenge today . Will talk later and input my data .... I appreciate all your support and ideas guys.
  2. Well I forgot today/ I needed to go to a meeting then chaperon a homecoming dance so didn't get to measure or weigh as the scales are in my dad's room and he is asleep. I did get to dance alittle and go up and down the stairs a lot as well ad do sweeps outside. The diet is going well, feel good and if I would have weighed and measured I am sure there is some difference as I can feel it so will get it done tomorrow cause what is an experiment with out stats.... silly me ha ha

  4. Oh it just slipped my mind the new show about Dr's in South America working at a small clinic.... love it . I love the History channel find a lot of interesting shows on it and the Discovery channel and of course the Biography channel

  7. That is what I use to do not weigh or measure go by looseness and ability to buy new smaller cloths. This diet is restrictive in it is very line by line and I skipped the weigh and measure :} I am fixing that today. We have a glorious sunny day today so remember it is sunny somewhere... If I do not feel like exercising I do isometric's and stretching which is better than nothing. I appreciate your sharing and look forward to input from you all. The diet on is suppose to help start fast weight loss so we will see in the end it is the long term that is my goal and this is just part of my journey..... I am willing work for it and my kids and hubby are being ok with it.

  11. Ok so day 4 is ok sticking to my plan thinking a lot about food.... Realizing how many times I eat when I was not really hungry . Now I am not hungry but trying to follow the diet . Beans are filling :} anyway so far today is going well and this is probably the most honest and true I have been to a diet. I will fill you all in later the brutal truths of measurements and goals. you lucky folks :]

  13. OK silly me:eek: I did not weigh or measure to start so will do that tomorrow when my sweet daughter will be here to help. I am not hungry at all and so far this is going really well. Beans , eggs, vegis, protein, spinach salad, nuts kimchee are all part of my first 3 days the premise is simple meals 4 times a day eating a lot of the same just no fruit no white.. bread, potatoes, rice pasta etc..... No dairy except cottage cheese. I can use salsa and seasonings. I am almost through the first pound of black beans I cooked Sunday and am on my second dozen eggs although I am sure my family have ate some of them. Water, teas and only up to 2 diet sodas are allowed a day I drink flavored, carbonated water,green tea. My problem so far is I am full its hard to eat within 30 minutes of rising but I have black beans and 2 eggs scrambled with spinach onion and tomatoes. I have never been good at dieting cause I automatically get hungry but I changed my mindset and got healthier and lost almost 80 lbs last year by simply eating more vegis, water quitting soda and protein with every meal then I hit a wall. I also walk, and zumba 2 to 3 times a week as well as isometrics and weight lift on my bowflex as well as a lot of core stretching. So day three was a success and am looking forward to day 4 I will measure and weigh as I really can't conduct an experiment without all the facts huh I appreciate all the comments and look forward to seeing how this experiment works ...... For all those who haven't read the book and only looked at the chapter titles you should see all the research behind all the claims would I go to some of the extremes stated-in the book NO WAY but it is a good read. So I need to edit this and prepare for night ..... blessings to you all... Terry PS ... Thanks Pam for the positive support I so appreciate you.
  14. actually I to find some bad with the good I have read in it. I am only interested in specific items and so far so good. I can just see you all trainers bashing anything and everything I think its funny to think of you all doing that . Personally I choose to find the good in everything and there is a lot of good in this book for me ... not for you no problem but for me I am choosing this journey eyes wide open not doing it because of what any famous Dr said. I happen to read ALOT and learn alot from many different sources. I have specific goals and am choosing this path to accelerate my progress so I can do more physically than I am able to now. Instead of bashing this and judging consider this as I do an experiment and lets see what good and bad happens. I am going to be brutally honest about what I eat and what exercise I do. I am doing it this way because this experiment appeals to me on many levels and accountability to you all is one of the pluses. SO day 2 was a success . on to day 3

  16. Hmmm a cardiac surgeon and a Dr of Physiology yes I pretty much do believe most of what they say. They have pretty sound advise and always back it up with facts. Doesn't mean I am a blind sheep and I do check things out and while this may not be for everyone I kinda am liking it on my second day so far. Beans for breakfast is not fun to get use . Eating within 30 minutes of getting up is harder but nuke them black beans add a little salsa and a boiled egg on the side and my breakfast is done. Drinking lots of water has sent me to the bathroom more often but done that before so nothing I can not handle so far. So here goes to day 2. Today is my Zumba day I love it's so fun for an hour.
  17. Anatess, thank you for your concern and insight. I appreciate the time you took. I have done some of the things you mentioned with mixed results. We can all consider this an experiment ok??? So far I have never felt so full..... I like the smaller meals 4 times daily and today I ate 6am 10 am 2:30 had 2 boiled eggs at 6pm and ate my fish when I got home from work. I drank 3 cups green tea , two bottles of carbonated flavored water and several bottles water. So far see no problem but just the first day. no cravings so far and I am surviving without my Coke which I could have diet but choose not to. So time wil tell.
  18. Pam I am with you on not wanting to go near the word diet . I lost weight to start by not dieting ... eating healthy, no processed foods more veggie's and little fat. I walk and Zumba 2 to 3 times a week. I am wanting to get past this stopping point and loose again. I am all for rapid weight loss and really think this will work for me.... forever no but to use as a tool yes. It really isn't bad no white, bleached or processed foods. beans, lots of veggie's and protein no dairy except cottage cheese, no fruit. One day a week you can eat what you want so I can do it pretty easily. Oh yes no bread , no grains , rice etc. Now I have been living on oatmeal for breakfast for some time so will miss that , but it is not forever and have read support from Dr OZ and others so not such a bad thing if you use it as a tool and know it is not a quick , permanent fix . Nothing really is . My exercise routine is pretty good for someone of my age and size. I am looking forward to being able to run , its kinda of hard with those sand bags on my behind :} I do not look at it as a wonder cure and really want to shed some pounds fast , use appropriate exercise to tone up and maintain my weight loss. So am not just going into this blindly. I so far am enjoying it. We will see

  20. It can be , It has lots of research and I am trying to get past this plateau I am stuck on. I will let you know how it goes as posting on this forum will help me and again so here goes.
  21. Ok today is the first day of my new diet. I have never been a good diet person although I have lost almost 80 lbs in the last year just by doing simple things water, protein with every meal more vegtables and limiting goodies. I am at a stand still so have decided to try the diet my daughter is on. Beans are a big part of it and I am truly full and wondered how I can eat it all but so far so good. The book I am using is The 4-hour body by Timothy Ferris. He also has a web site. So here goes and please if any of you know about this let me know. The book is The 4 hour body so my title should be that

  24. Thanks for all the information ... will take a bit for me to digest but I find it sooooo awesome that we all live in different areas and can all discuss the Sunday School lesson we all are having. Thanks Ram.
  25. Not every Bishop is approachable as we would like. If you remember in the beginning the poster said he was a my way or the highway kind of guy. That would be intimidating to many. Asking for advice from this forum is a good sounding board. You get lots of ideas and different perspectives, enabling you to make the right decision on how to handle the situation. Sadly some,not many get a bit to judgmental and that really isn't helpful at all . Be positive, supportive and helpful.
