  1. Congratulations on picking a very good day to have a birthday.
  2. Think about Noah, for whom this is also a day of remembrance. "One more year of keeping afloat."
  3. I was a gatekeeper at a naturist web venue when hotmail came along. I almost barred the door because I thought hotmail was suggestive. light house keeper As soon as someone says it, though, you can usually distinguish among: someone who keeps a lighthousesomeone who does light as opposed to heavy housekeepinga housekeeper who doesn't weigh muchCF "supra-segmental phonemes"
  4. As discussed elsewhere, this is also the exact anniversary (2nd month, 17th day) of Noah's flood. That was a party! (EVERYBODY came to it.)
  5. I'm grateful to you, Dr T, and every one else who joined in. I was a bit reluctant to even get in it, but having people from before made it fun. Hope we can get even more next year (if there is one). Competitive year, like last year. Although we all like to pose as poly-math picking geniuses, there is a lot of luck in the outcome.
  6. My goal every year is to be 90th percentile or better nationally and locally. Sometimes that wins a group, sometimes not. I usually do worse in the playoffs than the regular season, but GB was there and I was determined to back them all the way.
  7. Surely, you jest.Back on topic. I'm 70 and whatever it is people who dropped out in youth are called these days ("Senior Aaronic "?). I was considering going to church once my true religion (NFL) shut down for a while as was told that I should go with the High Priests. I don't know about that but the regular Priests would be a bad fit.
  8. Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Never hurts to pray for other creatures.
  9. Good mom-in-laws are rare. I've been blessed with two out of two so I can't exactly identify with your experience, but I do sympathize. Hang tough. If families are eternal, are in-laws?
  10. I misread that to mean God was once a man who had a job teaching. If He was teaching Junior High, this would explain a lot.
  11. Didn't we have a thread on "Pharisees" not that long ago?
  12. I don't see the word alcohol in the WOW, so what's your problem? If you're drinking these extracts instead of cooking with them, then you've got a worse problem than not being in conformity with the WOW.
  13. Just don't get discouraged by all those tares (Matt 13:24-30).
  14. They should be along shortly. Pam?
  15. Well, this is ominous: four not-quite-LDS in a row. So, you're in good company.
  16. This reply is off topic, but programming is also divided into religions. I'd say VB, Access, .NET represent the Catholic version of programming, Java, MySQL, PHP represent the Protestant version, and Perl (of Great Price) and PostgreSQL represent a religion based on inspiration and purity.
  17. One outfit started by a Mormon boy from Cedar: WGU Non-profit, accredited, award-winning, written up in TIME and such.
  18. If you're going into a server, then MySQL is pretty much the standard. As for the Windows environment, no experience and no advice. If this has to be portable, then Java is a good choice. Just starting to learn Java myself for a dream processor app.
  19. Whoa! Did I ever walk into that one. I was waiting for rameupmtom to ask for a reference so I could say "Curly told me." Sorry, MoE. And I forgot that that whole string also includes my birthday.
  20. That's because The Flood, The Crossing of the Red Sea, Passover and the day Jesus walked on the water are the EXACT SAME DATE in the calendar of Moe.
  21. And we're going to let "Huck" remain? Better change that to "Henry." Be safe from the spoonerisms that we juvenile delinquents are prone to. If "Finn" is OK. Don't want to offend the suomalaiset.
  22. That's just what he wants you to think. (c.f. "snake in the grass.")
  23. Sufficient? We're going in circles. We're way beyond sufficient. Oh, by the way, Noah's flood started on my birthday. (Gen 7:11) so I hope Pam will make note of that this year.
