  1. OH, I am so sorry, LT. I will keep him in my prayers. Let us know how things go.Dawn
  2. I did that once. I went to England for 6 days. It was the best time, though I did get to missing my little girl!
  3. I have heard a lot of LDS state that Zion is SLC now, that is has been moved from Independence. Why do they claim this if it is not true?

  6. I would like to see something about the other "Darth" guy Palpatine told Anakin about. The one who learned to control life. That could be interesting. Did Yoda kill him? There were quite a few asides in this movie that could be mis-construed as lead-ins to yet another movie. Not necessarily another between episodes 3 and 4, but maybe an episode 3a.
  7. OK, topics. Not personalities. Thanks.
  8. It was a permanent calling, till W. Wallace Smith got alzheimers and could no longer function as prophet. That is why he designated his son and left several years prior to his death. As far as the letter of counsel, it is just another step towards the dark side.
  9. The movie stirred a desire to see the original Star Wars movie (episode IV), so my daughter and I watched it last night. I was amazed by the tiny details where the two movies were linked (beside the glaring obvious ones) that they had put into the final movie. Like when Obi Wan gives Luke Darth Vader's lightsaber, and said "Your father wanted me to give this to you when you were old enough". Of course Anakin said no such thing (but Obi Wan had to keep his "cover story" up), but I remember Obi Wan walking over and picking up Darth Vader's lightsaber before walking off. I had forgotten that scene in the first movie. And all the other little details. It was great seeing them back to back.
  10. That scene moved me, too, Tao. During that fight scene, a quote from the original movie came to mind. During the light saber scene between Obi Wan and Darth Vader in the death star, Darth Vader says, "When last we met, you were the master and I was but the learner. We have come full-circle. Now I am the master."There were lots of scenes in this movie that brought the first movie back full force. Little parts of scenes where it seems the actions of some of the cast were scripted to be the exact replicas of movements from cast members of the first movie. It was like deja vu. And a real strong case of it, too. As an aside, there is an interview between the guy who plays Anakin and George Lucas somewhere on the net, and they are interviewing each other. The Anakin guy (Christopher Hayden ?) said when they digitally remastered the original series, that in the third movie (part VI), they edited out the guy who was originally in the final "Jedi ghost" scene that played dying Darth Vader and inserted him. So my daughter and I went back and looked at that final scene, and sure 'nuff, there was Anakin Skywalker circa 25 years old instead of Anakin Skywalker circa 50 years old. (I always thought that ending was too hokey to end such a brilliant trilogy with. )
  11. Well, if you are expecting good acting and good special effects and good directing and good dialogue and good costumes all from a measley sci-fi show, then yes, your standards are too high.
  12. Jason, I have to apologetically say, You have rocks in your head. From someone who has been around from the very beginning, I can say, without a moments doubt, that, next to the original one, this one is the best. Hands down. The others were just pale shadows of what they could have been, but this one rocked! (That is, once you get past the bad acting by the guy who plays Anakin. ) It did what I have never seen a prequel do. It tied all the ends together fantastically.
  13. I have also seen this on other Invision message boards. I think it would work great. People could edit their mistakes within 15 minutes or so, and I would be prevented from deleting my posts, and be forced to learn to live with what I have said. Great idea! Jenda? Spencer and LT have the controls. You need to petition them.
  14. I decided to take the "null vote" since I am the moderator that suggested we take away the "edit button", but, upon seeing the results, I have to ask, Did Setheus vote for himself, or did someone else gratify him in that manner?
  15. Take them to the local Planned Parenthood abortion clinic? Throw them down the stairs? I give up. What?
  16. I don't think so. That Christ walked the earth, if true, was a historical matter. The Church takes a position on that - does it not. That Joseph Smith was a polygamist is a historical fact. Why wimp out by not taking a position on it - like yeah, but we disagree that it was good? There is no proof. Out of the, what?, 32 other "wives" that Joseph was supposed to have had, there are no children. That seems odd for such a verile man.
  17. What ever happened to "Ed"? Did you like Ed? Man, toward the end, I couldn't stand Ed. I took a sabbatical for about 6-8 months, till he was gone.
