Some people need to be removed from the world because they just can never be completely trusted to not kill if given the slightest chance. Ted Bundy comes to mind. Other than that how can we justify killing innocent people just to make sure murderers are killed? Not one innocent person is worth dying to kill others who are guilty. If there is any doubt at all, even the tiniest shred, then there should be no execution. If its ok to kill innocents then pretend its you they accidently decide to kill. Are you willing to be the sacrifice for the 'greater' good? How about your spouse or mom or dad or child? Well everyone is a real person who deserves to be punished only for their own sins. On the DNA issue there is a new report that DNA evidence can be falsified. It is not a very good fake but it can be done now. If it can be now it will be done much better as we go along. This is an issue that does worry me a lot. We have depended on it so much to correct mistakes made in the past.

Well I live in Southern Idaho and have lived in Salt Lake. The drivers don't resemble each other at all. About the worst thing here is speeding up to pass so they can get to the exit before you do.

Is it possible a big part of the problem is that you feel so alone? You arent but it has to feel that way. It is my understanding that you can get a program started where you are. If you even have a branch there are no doubt people going through the same problems. Talk to the bishop and see if he can find out how to get a support group ie: like an AA meeting going where you are now. Do you have close female friends? Its so easy to not have anymore. If not then maybe stepping out there and looking for friends will help give you a personal net of safety. Find ways to overcome loneliness. This might sound scary but doing service to others who are lonely might be good for you. Like in nursing homes? Widows? Look around you. I bet you can see them easy enough. Good luck. I know its a very hard thing to deal with. You can do it though. I know you can and so does God.

I always figured in Utah people think it's Gods state so He will protect them no matter whether they know about what signal lights are for or not.

Oh I didnt mean they held the funeral there but the viewing and family prayer etc before the funeral is.

Isn't the relief society room used for funerals in most wards? I always assumed that is why that room is nicer and bigger. Then since men care about the comfort of their wives they opt for another room for themselves.

What we are, always was. You may not be able to find it in doctrine but you can not find doctrine to tell me it is not true. I was who I am and always will be. God chose the brightest most intelligent spirit to be first born. Jesus. He recognized Him as an intelligence. Not as an atom or whatever. Our problem is, being man, we always want to put bounds on things. Where did I become me? When did it happen? When was the beginning? I find it much harder to put bounds on things. What was it before it was if there was nothing? We always were and I dont mean pretty sparkles with no mind. I personally like the pretty sparkles and claim that but not without my essential being to go with it. Never had a desire to be a molecule with an equal amount of self identity.

Price gougers deserve no respect. If they want me to buy they will price accordingly. No way am I going that long without something to drink. If its a sin to bring in food and drink is it a sin to cause others to sin by your greed?

Everyone has bad days and was not likely meant how it came out. Some times I think its not the gospel we are tried with, it's our fellowman.

it seems kinda pointless to me to take all the good people off the earth before the trials. whos gonna be the prophets to lie dead in jerusalem? whos gonna fight the bad guys from the north? who is going to hold jerusalem for that long seige? who is going to build the temples? trust me it isnt going to be the wicked.

This is a time of remembering Christ in our lives. A time we have family gatherings. How many times do we see our families and wonder who is going to be fighting and holding grudges with the ones they should love more than anyone? I doubt there are many families that dont have a few who cant seem to learn to forgive each other. Some probably dont even know what they are refusing to forgive. Please think about it if you are one of those who refuse to forgive. What does it matter what happened? They are family. If you can't forgive them how can God forgive you? You hurt not only them but you and your entire family. Please forgive each other.

a patriarchal blessing sounds like an idea. with prayer and fasting before hand. it might answer those questions but it might not.

no one HAS to pay tithing. but if you 1. want to do as God has commanded you will. and 2. you want the blessings you will.

in the preexistence satan said,hey i can make sure everyone comes back! i will tell them and not leave belief in God to something as thin as faith. they will know and not need faith if you follow my plan. we ALL rejected that plan who came here to this mortal life. we opted out for the faith plan. we would NEVER be able to prove scientifically that God was who He is. this plan allowed us the chance to prove our inner willingness to follow God without any cheat sheets to tell us exactly what to do. we would require faith to know what His will was. we would have the free agency to follow that will or not follow it. we had the option of the easy way and we chose the one that would prove our love for our Father, even though it was not so easy.

it was a great talk. i remember thinking he was looking well also.

the law was changed fairly recently to allow our own troops to deploy in the states. and if you check i believe they are already deployed as of last month unless that was set back. the thing to remember for all the 'haters' is that a republican president allowed it and a democratic congress voted for it. both can share the blame for this one.

it is an important distinction. we sustain whether or not we will accept the revelation in our lives. its not really to vote on whether its from God. just if we are going to do it and be held accountable or not.

I think this is a cultural/dominance thing, not that I think poly-anything relationships are healthy. I believe that there are those who would prefer a polyandrous (1 female) relationship as opposed to a polygynous (1 male) in which the idea of "too much testosterone" would not be an issue to them. true although i was really kidding around. there dont seem to have been many polygynous societies common in history although there are a few. i hadnt read your introduction post before, interalia. since you were so brave and open i am going to tell a few things that have influenced my thoughts on this subject. my third child was born with birth defects. they were in the abdominal area. one of the obvious problems was that the sex was not clear at all. in fact we didnt know for sure what he was till an autopsy was performed. when they came around to ask information for the birth certificate we didnt even know what sex he was. it got me to thinking a lot on the subject. since then i have become friends with a person online who is a hermaphrodite and a member of the church. i didnt know this for quite some time so its not why we met. it is clear that some odd things happen when a baby is created sometimes. there are genetic anomolies all over the place. most cause death before birth. many cause mental defects. others cause physical birth defects. one is where there are three chromosomes for sex not two. sometimes known as 'super female or super male'. such as xxy xxx xyy. usually it is only by accident that a person is identified with these. they go for a long time never knowing and no doubt most never know. how it effects their gender is not clear if at all. the point being that things get messed up here sometimes. its not always as clear as you would think. another point to consider is that in the celestial kingdom there are the couples. and there are the ministering angels. who the ministering angels are is not all that clear that i know of. maybe there is some connection to this subject.
