Wish they would include both quotes in these replies it would make things a lot clearer. I see others have the ability to type out script to place boxes in boxes but that is much to complicated for my feeble mind. Doing good just to respond:) Bro. Rudick -
Right. I know that I was way off the mark of the discussion at hand and not sure how to apologize for it. She did ask:D But that was not what she was really asking in the first place was it:p You are sooooooooooo right.:) Bro. Rudick

Are there contradictions in the Mormon writings?
JohnnyRudick replied to aj4u's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Yes, and if you had been alive in Peters or Paul's time and heard the preaching of the early Apostles I am sure that things were said that the people who heard it thought it was the very words of God, just because they were uttered by one of Jesus Apostles. Yet I am sure that many of the things taught never made it into what we call Scripture. If someone was to dig up some writing of Paul's and it was to contradict a teaching we have of his or Jesus, many today would say, See! the Bible is not true. But such is the case with things that are later discarded and useful maybe for study and for getting a big picture of the times and all like the Apocrypha, but it is not Scripture. Clear as mud? Bro. Yes I fully understand that of which you speak. Sometimes when you see me put something in quotes, I am saying something more then what is written in plain sight. My point was a little sarcastic I do not wish to admit:mellow: but will do so here for clarity. Bro. Rudick -
A true Luciferian will tell you "Satan" is a creation of the Christian world. He will tell you that they do not worship Satan because there is no Satan. But the true Luciferian will keep a secret back. He believes secretly in the angelic world of gods where Lucifer is the real morning star and Jesus is the usurper. They say that the true One will return and claim the earth as his own as lightning out of the Eastern sky and the whole earth will follow him. They are preparing for his event even at this time. They are the true Luciferians and they are not the silly anarchists and Satanic Rock nuts or what ever playing act out games. They are educating your kids and leading industry and government. Just a thought:rolleyes: Bro. Rudick

Are there contradictions in the Mormon writings?
JohnnyRudick replied to aj4u's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Yes LDS.ORG is a reliable source. It is reliable in that we believe that Brigham Young taught that on at least one ocasion. Yet again as has been pointed out before (over and over) this and other teachings that the opposition digs up are not found in the Standard Works of the Church. Not in the Bible Not in the Book of Mormon Not in the D&C Not in the Pearl of Great Price The teaching never "caught on":o Bro. Rudick -

Look up Testament - Testify - Witness Matthew 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. Matthew 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. 1 Timothy 5:19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. John 3:32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. Luke 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. The Book of Mormon is another witness and testimony of Jesus Christ Bro. Rudick -
These are the kinds of people true Luciferians point to and say, "Look! There is a satanist!" Bro. Rudick

Why:confused: Are you thinking about worshiping Satan? O believe that the most likely real worshipers of Satan would not be found among the average citizen, but among the high places of Finance and Power. As well as in the universities and other places of higher learning. Well? Bro. Rudick

I believe the navel reference is actually referring to our digestive system. A healthy digestive system is vital in the proper converting of the foods we eat to useful vitamins, breaking down the minerals to useful combination with the vitamins to useful enzymes for proper growth and mental health. Not sure if this helps THE BOOK OF MORMON, An Account Written By THE HAND OF MORMON, Upon Plates Taken From The Plates Of Nephi. Wherefore, it is an abridgment of the record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites-- Written to the Lamanites, who are a remnant of the house of Israel; and also to Jew and Gentile-- Written by way of commandment, and also by the spirit of prophecy and of revelation-- Written and sealed up, and hid up unto the Lord, that they might not be destroyed-- To come forth by the gift and power of God unto the interpretation thereof-- Sealed by the hand of Moroni, and hid up unto the Lord, to come forth in due time by way of the Gentile-- The interpretation thereof by the gift of God. An abridgment taken from the Book of Ether also, which is a record of the people of Jared, who were scattered at the time the Lord confounded the language of the people, when they were building a tower to get to heaven-- Which is to show unto the remnant of the House of Israel what great things the Lord hath done for their fathers; and that they may know the covenants of the Lord, that they are not cast off forever-- And also to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that JESUS is the CHRIST, the ETERNAL GOD, manifesting himself unto all nations-- And now, if there are faults they are the mistakes of men; wherefore, condemn not the things of God, that ye may be found spotless at the judgment-seat of Christ. What Does Obadiah Verse 21 Mean?
JohnnyRudick replied to Still_Small_Voice's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
No the context is Jacob and Esau. There has from the beginning been a contest between Jacob and Esau, who has the rightful birthright. Of course we know it was Jacob. But in the Muslim world it is not Jacob, it is Esau. It was Esau that God would have Abraham give up on the mount. Not Jacob. Now, fast forward to today and the Last Days. Look around you. Jesus is coming soon. Praise God;) Bro. Rudick -

AJ I am well aware that the King James Bible has errors. I believe it is the most accurate English Bible among the English bibles. That is all. And when I speak of more accuracy I speak of the Manuscripts and texts translated and accumulated by Erasmus and the TR. Not the Manuscripts and texts rejected by him, Beza, William Tyndale, Martin Luther and other who had many if not most of the so called "better" and "newer" manuscripts and who is to say that God did not have a hand in the so called "mistranslation of some of the early English Bibles. Such as 2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. The Bible corrupters say - (Better Manuscripts say "peddle") In light of 2 Corinthians 4:2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. And 1 Nephi 13:25 Wherefore, these things go forth from the Jews in purity unto the Gentiles, according to the truth which is in God. 1 Nephi 13:26 And after they go forth by the hand of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, from the Jews unto the Gentiles, thou seest the formation of a great and abominable church, which is most abominable above all other churches; for behold, they have taken away from the gospel of the Lamb many parts which are plain and most precious; and also many covenants of the Lord have they taken away. 1 Nephi 13:27 And all this have they done that they might pervert the right ways of the Lord, that they might blind the eyes and harden the hearts of the children of men. 1 Nephi 13:28 Wherefore, thou seest that after the book hath gone forth through the hands of the great and abominable church, that there are many plain and precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God. 1 Nephi 13:29 And after these plain and precious things were taken away it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles; and after it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles, yea, even across the many waters which thou hast seen with the Gentiles which have gone forth out of captivity, thou seest-- because of the many plain and precious things which have been taken out of the book, which were plain unto the understanding of the children of men, according to the plainness which is in the Lamb of God--because of these things which are taken away out of the gospel of the Lamb, an exceedingly great many do stumble, yea, insomuch that Satan hath great power over them. Maybe it wasn't not such a mistake after all. We could look at other verses but not now I guess;) The Bibles of the TR paved the way for the Restoration of the Gospel. O praise the Lord for preserving them to do His Mighty Work. Bro. Rudick -

I have told you why I can believe it over the other versions of this Bible. I have told you in other threads of the history of the texts of the bibles you depend on for your information of Jesus Christ you believe in. You have told me that you just think a blanket statement that comes out to "Well they are all about the same" Kinda like the statement said by some, "Well we are all getting to the same place just taking different roads." You are confused because of the pollutions of men placed in the versions of bibles you and the rest of Christianity try to have faith in and they are all shifting sands. Stand on the solid Rock of Revelation of a true Prophet of God Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Bro. Rudick -

You hold the truth that is true. You also hold the false hoods planted in the truth from some unscrupulous scribes starting about 150 AD and you even at time turn to the deliberate interpolations and reintroductions of the errors and misconceptions salted into the Scriptures anew with the NIV. I am not saying that the King James Bible is totally with out error but it is certainly the best English copy we have today as the modern translators use every chance they get to salt the "oldest" and "best", New and Improved per-version or manuscript they can find. I say, even if you do not "go LDS", stick and learn to read the KIng James Bible. It will do you the best job of bringing you the partial view of what God has reveled to man, and even glimpse of what is in store for today. Remember, God did lead other sheep to the farther most parts of the earth and He did not abandon them either. The Book of Mormon tells us of Sheep He led from the Tower of Babel that ended up in this world. Also others from the land of Jerusalem in about 600 BC and led them also to this world. It is a shame to be without what God has revealed to them when He has made it available to the world. Not to forget the leadership today just as God placed Apostles and the like in His Church in the beginning, He still has the same organization today. Yes it is modified to suit the needs of today's world but the authority given to the Apostles in that day is in need today as well as it is the same church. If you have studied the Bible as a good Christian should, you know of which verses I speak. You also know of the subtle differences between the various versions of the Bible. Sometimes the meanings can be at great odds with each other even to the point of saying that the other one shouldn't be there. The quotes from the Book of Mormon and Pearl of Great Price lets us know which of the leading Greek texts translates into a more accurate English Bible. Getting late Bro. Rudick -

We have danced with aj for over 30 pages on another thread and in the process found out that he jumps from site to site doing this very same thing. I know it is true that after all this time that the Spirit of God may be riding him heavily to accept the truth of His Gospel but on the other hand. . . For my part, I am still willing to answer his questions to the best of my ability and watch the Lord work in him but I think he is carrying an umbrella. Bro. Rudick -
Are there contradictions in the Mormon writings?
JohnnyRudick replied to aj4u's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
There was a time when Jesus was a Prophet. When He walked on this Earth in His Earthly Ministry. But after the Resurrection He took on His office as the Great High Priest offering up Himself for our bennifit. I don't doubt that He still holds that Office of Prophet but His Godhood and His Priesthood out shines all that came before. I know what you mean, and agree with you. But this aj must hear that the job of Prophet has fallen upon another. And the only one Kinging it around here is Jesus. Lord and Savior, Great High Priest and our God. Bro. Rudick -

We have never said we have to magically appear the Golden Plates as you have claimed that the originals somehow will magically appear if you need to correct a supposed contradiction. Needing the Golden Plates is a straw man to kick at because we have a living Prophet. Bro. Rudick -

There you go again inferring that you have or can get your hands on the originals. Where are these originals? Where may I get a copy of the originals and not a version of a text or other. You obviously have connections that I have never heard of or any of my professors I have ever had or knew. Bro. Rudick -

I find the exception to be in the words of Jesus. If it is figuratively He will say, I tell you a parable. . ., or It is as a. . . or some such praise. Most of the time we have simular clues elsewhere. And when we don't Jesus will in many cases quote or refer to the event either as fiction or not. I have no problems any more with this since about 1986. Study will mess with your mind I guess. Bro. Rudick -
