I think demographics would play a role also. You would get a more positive response in a small town than a large city. Everyone that comes down our road waves, rather they live around here on not. We live 20 miles from the closest city or town.

No Santa! Who has been feeding you that rubbish?

That's an excellent idea Pam. I guess that's why you get the big money:) I think I'll see if there is any interest in a lds.net get together in Ohio next spring.

Considering training for one of these jobs takes one day,I wouldn't be surprized if they just fire them and hire new people. I know college grads who would be willing to work for any wage. There are many teachers with no classrooms.

Youngbloods? (I think there was a group by that name)

I'm always leary with the words "No boots on the ground". I've heard it before. I usually find those that are most in favor of sending our troops to war have never witnessed war.

How you lost them makes no dlfference. The Tooth Fairy needs to fork over some biils to you, with interest:)

I thought that was for Santa Claus. No wonder I only got a dime.:)

We have to stop sending our troops all over the world. The countries they have been fighting for haven't changed at all. Within a few years of us leaving Afganistan the Taliban will be in power again. Look at the turmoil in Iraq. It's a waste of time and our young men and women shouldn't be dying thee.

The Tooth Fairy will be interviewing for a body guard position soon. He will need one to protect him with all that money he's carrying around. The going rate for a tooth this year is FOUR (4) dollars. That's up 23% from last year. It's up more than that from when I used he's services. I got a dime. What did the rest of you get? Of course, I was receiving mine in the 50's.

Seeing the bodies of those killed by a chemical attack are disturbing, but I can't erase the past. After 9/11 they showed reactions around the world. In Damascus, Syria the people were cheering in the streets. I have a problem defending people who would like to see America destroyed and jubilant that thousands of innocent civilians were killed.

That could be why I titled the thread "Amish Saints"

Years ago I read the account of a woman that was taken captive by the Mormons and held at Temple Square in the 1800's. She said she escaped by climbing the wall and jumping into Salt Lake and swimming to safety. That's a pretty good jump, considering Salt Lake is several miles from Temple Square. You can find about anything on the internet. You won't find the truthfullness of the Church on the internet of in priesthood meeting. You find it on your knees.

No need to clean your specs, you read right. In Knox County , Ohio, three Amish families have joined the church. They still wear the Amish clothing and use their horse and buggy, but they are full members and the men have received the priesthood. We heard about this a few months ago because we used to belong to the same ward. Two weeks ago while we were at the temple their youth came with the other youth from that ward to do baptisms for the dead. One thing that looked strange was that the girls were wearing their prayer caps. In our prayer meeting that same morning the temple presidency told us that the evening before the adults had received their endowments and the families had been sealed. I asked someone close to the situation how they came to find the Church? His reply, "One of them got hold of a Book of Mormon".

The one in our county closed a a year ago. The same family owned a theater downtown complete with an old fashioned pop corn machine. It closed also. Small town business's are being killed by strip malls.

I accidentally stumbled onto a forum in England (I'm in Ohio) and when deleting it from my favorites list a few weeks ago had over 15,000 posts in two years. There were only a few posters, so when you found yourself on with someone you may post back and forth for am hour or more. There was also a five hour time difference.
