  1. I'm not quite sure if this pertains to beauty but it pertains to health I guess. Whenever I'm clogged up, instead of taking a laxative or a chemically produced pill, I make nacho cheese with velveeta and put cubes of spam in it. After eating that I have no problems going #2.
  2. Is this from experience? How did you come to this definite conclusion that gay men usually or sometimes develop "lisps" because they increasingly hang out with women? What about the only boy in a family of all girls? That individual will be around these girls most of their lives. Do they have "lisps" as well? Should I be worried for my son because his two older sisters might cause him to develop a lisp during his early years of language development? FYI-I have two friends who have lived in France (6 years) and Germany (15 years). Neither of them have "lisps" or even an accent when they speak english. Are you sure you don't want to re-think your hypothesis?
  3. Thank you for your thoughtful, well reasoned views on this "issue'...Sadly, sane rational thought such as yours is lost on those who increasing feel the need to pander to the Homosexuals. ***I'm not pandering towards homosexuals. Please indicated where I have? I've only pointed out that people want to hide behind a PC attitude towards judging the sin without judging the sinner when in reality you are indeed indirectly judging an individual because of their actions. On one final note, I'm amazed that someone would rehash the lie about the Church donating trillions of dollars to the support of Prop 8...IT'S A LIE and those who continue to bring it up, dare I follow this to it's logical conclusion. ****Who said trillions??? The church (which includes its members, not just sheer financial contribution coming from the church headquarters) was the main overall contributor to the campaign. It's estimated that millions were donated- Not to mention the promotion via the pulpit during services.
  4. Not to dismiss environment on being a probable cause but ever increasing scientific evidence refutes your opinion on this.
  5. Gnarly situation... Like sitting on the inside bowl at sunset when a clean up set from the west rolls through. On a side note though, I find it hilarious that people think the cost of living is expensive in Utah....It's all relative I guess.
  6. Only in the cultural and social context you've grown up in.
  7. I don't see the logic as circular at all. Principles and actions are not the people which integrate said principles and actions into their lives. We don't know exactly what causes person A to exhibit behavior X and therefore cannot lawfully judge person A with an eternal judgment; ***My point doesn’t revolve around the discussion of an eternal judgment. The action of homosexuality is indeed the person itself and I do believe the church has even stated that homosexuality can be a born trait. Under this belief, judgment is then made simply by his/her propensities. Judgments are made by people’s actions. They are related as one doesn’t exist without the other. For example: will a kleptomaniac who steals because he cannot stop himself receive the same eternal judgment as a man who steals because he covets his neighbor's goods? It is written 'thou shalt not steal'; is the judgment blindly administered? ***Poor example. Let’s re-word it to-If a male homosexual engages in a relationship because he cannot help himself will he receive the same judgment as a man who has relations with his neighbors husband which he covets? I would say not quite because one commits the sin of homosexuality and the sin of coveting. Will a person who kills to protect himself from a robber with murderous intents receive the same eternal judgment as a person who kills to get gain? It is written 'thou shalt not kill'; is the judgment blindly administered? ***Poor example-Homosexuals are not victims of circumstances due to another’s actions which we don’t have control over. > In the same manner, passing judgment on homosexual behaviors and lifestyles does not equate to condemning those who exhibit said behaviors, or live said lifestyles. Your right, it’s only condemning those who exhibit said behaviors to inequality under the current laws of the land (for some states anyways). Judgments are made by people’s actions. They are related as one doesn’t exist without the other.
  8. Thanks for the quote, I was unaware of those facts (not a big surprise). That being said, the question at hand is the general proportion of righteous women to men; not just the proportion of women to men in the Church. No faith in your elders?
  9. If you can commit murder, repent and then become a prophet I'm sure you can become bishop if the lord calls you as one.
  10. You say tomato I say tomatoe I guess. By judging ones actions you are indeed indirectly judging them. I'm not stating what is right and what is wrong, I just don't buy the circular logic of behavior vs. an individual participating in the behavior. Seems a bit wishy washy.
  11. From Apostle John Widtsoe- "Members of the Church unfamiliar with its history, and many non-members, have set up fallacious reasons for the origin of this system of marriage among the Latter-Day Saints. The most common of these conjectures is that the Church, through plural marriage, sought to provide husbands for its large surplus of female members. The implied assumption in this theory, that there have been more female than male members in the Church, is not supported by existing evidence. On the contrary, there seem always to have been more males than females in the Church....The United States Census records from 1850 to 1940, and all available Church records, uniformly show a preponderance of males in Utah, and in the Church." "Another conjecture is that the people were few in numbers and that the church, desiring greater numbers, permitted the practice so that a phenomenal increase in population could be attained. This is not defensible, since there was no surplus of women." ("Evidences and Reconciliations," p. 391.)
  12. Someone stated that it's not our place to judge their behavior. Except the church decided to make it our place when the church dumped millions of dollars into a campaign to fight something that was in conflict with the churches belief.
  13. Where is this city of "gay lisps" that homosexuals all seem to hang out in?
  14. I concur. This falls in line with the nature of human conditioning.
  15. Correct-Hence the millions of dollars thrown at California's Prop 8 campaign by the church.
  16. The last quote does not make my question invalid. I would think that if someone is to the boiling point to where they are planning on a divorce and willing to take the kids then an intimate relationship is probably the last thing he/she would want to participate in with the spouse...maybe that's just me though. Considering the timing, it seems to me that this circumstance is exactly what position they were in (he threatens to leave and now she thinks she's pregnant and worried about what lies ahead.) My thought is simply that maybe it was just an empty threat to hopefully cause her to come to a realization of what her actions may lead to. Are responses on this forum always suppose to be positive???
  17. So your husband is so fed up with this issue that he is planning on leaving you, taking the kids yet is happy to roll around naked with you???
  18. 1. I wasn't leading to this. My mother is a convert after the marriage. 2. I wasn't saying that either regarding bypassing one for another. The way I read your comment was that you two are the only people meant for him. That is fine. The "Best one for me and best one for him" though is a matter of perspective. One could say your courtship/relationship was a bi-product of geographic location, social construction and availability at the time considering there were literally billions of people for him to choose from if he had the time to search them all out. 3. Disney is a farce and Walt was indeed a Marxist. Watch any old disney movie with the original characters and you can see the innuendos starting with goofy's "The world owes me a living" song.
  19. I can't answer that. It's between you and them. Even if you do I seriously doubt there isn't anything they haven't already heard before. You shouldn't let your past prevent you from stepping ahead and moving on with your spiritual progression no matter how awkward it may make you feel in that moment of time. Think if it this way...If you had a scale and on one side it showcased your awkward mere moment in time and on the other side was your eternal progression, which one outweighs the other?
  20. Stop worrying about what others are going to think. Your relationship is between you and the lord. The bishops council is there to help you through the repentance process not punish you for your past actions. They can also be really helpful and provide insight on curbing your problems. The mere fact of going back may also put you in a position to be around people outside of your circle, therefore making it easier for you to curb your problems.
  21. 1)I'm not quite sure what that means. However I seriously doubt you comprehend the relationship in its entirety between these two individuals. Unless both of them have spoken to you directly and together I wouldn't trust anything you hear in the "hen house" a.k.a. RS. 2)Spoken like a loving wife. Both the above quotes seem to lead that you think there is only one person for everyone? I believed in Disney movies also when I was a kid.
  22. To each his own I guess. Southern California for the most part is a rat hole. All the major cities are urban death mazes littered with concrete, urine, trash and taxes. Sure, there are pockets of wealth and or environmentalism that keep certain areas natural and/or enhanced but unfortunately they are few and far between considering California's square mileage. I've lived on the coast for 25+ years and have witnessed first hand the over development and complete wiping out of the coastal resources. They just keep building and building and building. I'd take 1800's California over today any day.
  23. Easy solution...Plan on giving 10% of everything you own when you die to the church. That way you can cover all the areas you may have missed by accident or purpose:huh:
