I know it's tradition to get or give Father's Days gifts. I find it entertaining that seems to be the only thing people are talking about when it comes to Fathers Day. I myself am going to spend the day with my dad just being in his company and enjoying. With all his health problems I'm not sure how many Father's Days I have left. I am taking a suggestion of Strawberry's and writing a letter to him to let him know how much I respect and honor and love him. I think he would love something like that more than any trip to Alaska, bbq grill or anything. I am not putting down those gifts I'm just using them as an example. Those are wonderful gifts.

He truly is an amazing man. When his time here on earth does come to an end it will be with extreme mourning on my part. If you haven't read his biography you should.

I started coming to this site about 9 years ago (just like Ben Raines) when it was a cgi site. I was a moderator at that site and again like Ben spent much time banning and kicking people out. I enjoy the interaction between the "regulars." Many of which I have had the pleasure and the misery to meet in person. Sorry but there is misery in some of the people that come to this site. Not everyone is what they say they are. Even at an lds site. I enjoy the forums. I also enjoy those that are of other faiths that frequent this site. I love taking to people from all races and from all over the world. I may not agree with everyone but hey.....that is life and what makes it interesting. Everyone being so unique.

Just so you are aware....Palerider who earlier posted about child support and tithing is a former two time Bishop/Branch President. I trust what he says about issues such as this.

Okay here is a definition of "tithing" from the First Presidency that I got from lds.org. The First Presidency gave the following definition of tithing: “The simplest statement we know of is the statement of the Lord himself, namely, that the members of the Church should pay ‘one-tenth of all their interest annually,’ which is understood to mean income. No one is justified in making any other statement than this” When I discussed with my Bishop about whether I should be paying tithing on child support he told me the same thing that this statement says. Child support was not considered "income" therefore I would not be required (unless I chose to) to pay tithing against it.

I have a story. When one of my boys was about 4-5 months old, we were at church in the RS room. I was holding him up to where he could see over my shoulder. He had been very cranky. I noticed that he appeared suddenly quite quiet and had a huge smile on his face. I was curious as to who or what he was smilling at since we were sitting in the back row. I turned around to look and there was a large picture of Christ on the wall. He was smiling at the picture. Now if that doesn't prove that we knew Christ before we came here I don't know what does.

I work, I cut out rocks shaped like squares. and put them on kittchen or bathroom floor and walls. Its heavy work especially carrying them around, working 20 hours a day could be a problem since im lasy. Well, there we go. They are not examples of the LDS Faith. I'm a little confused as to why there needs to be some sort of scriptural reference for everyday common sense life. Working hard, eating correctly and avoiding some things like caffeine etc are not examples of LDS faith? I'd like you to show me some scriptural reference or response that would show otherwise.

I think there are ways to continue friendship and promote the repentence process without condoning the behavior.
