  1. I have to add a person who I had already admired but admire even more now. That is Derek Fisher from the Utah Jazz. Asking to be let out of the rest of his contract that would have brought him an additional 21 million dollars. Reason? So that he can be with his family and especially with his 1 year old daughter who is suffering from a rare eye cancer and the treatment has to be done in New York. His comment....family first...basketball second.
  2. just checking to see if you looked that up in the Dictionary??? Why yes I did
  3. Okay definition of addiction: An addiction is a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some specific activity The definition of compulsion: a strong, usually irresistible impulse to perform an act, esp. one that is irrational or contrary to one's will To me someone that continues and can't stop doing an activing such as porn surfing matches these definitions. Just MHO.
  4. Oh brother. There is that humility again.

    Whooops!

In a job I had once with an insurance company we had to document the conversations of all phone calls that took place. The thing we used just wrapped words. Didn't cut them off and start them on the next line if the word didn't fit. I was typing the word therapist. So I had the on one line and rapist on the other. Instead of a therapist he was "the rapist." I had to quickly change that.
  8. Awesome. Congratulations
  9. That's why they are good for you!!!! Good one Orrin. Exercise while shopping.
  10. Hmmm never thought of that but you are right. I don't think I've seen a clock at any of the grocery stores I most frequently use.
  11. Good things to know Strawberry. I like the fact that some of the grocery stores in my area now have the sanitizing wipes you can use right next to the shopping carts. I wanted to add something to this. Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores 5 days a week? Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. And each day has a different colored tie. Monday -Blue Tuesday - Green Thursday - Red Friday - White Saturday - Yellow So you can tell how fresh the bread is by the color of tie.
  12. Thank you Ben. I am very passionate about the service our police officers provide. I know most of the officers in the town I live in by first name and as you know I don't live in a small town. Between issues my son has been involved in and in the business I manage I've needed their services on many occasions. One officer sat down with my son for over an hour and had a "fatherly" talk with him. No raised voices, no condemnation just concern. I was never more impressed with that officer than I was that night. Thank you for pointing out the good our officers do.
  13. I understand your comment and I know you have a passion for skateboarding etc. I'm not disputing that you would get more upset over something that happened to kids that have the same passion as you. I understand that. So what you are actually saying is you dislike the way people are treated over their choice of transportation. Okay fine. What I am disagreeing with is your insinuation that police officers are not there to see that our children are safe. THAT'S what I found offensive. That's where I saw a stereotype. If you want to voice your opinion on one type of issue concerning police officers then do that. But please don't lump ALL police officers into that same mold.
  14. I hope you aren't lumping all police officers into this incident and that I am perhaps misunderstanding your sarcasm. I hope I am. This is a rare situation. I have known many many police officers during my life and most are great guys in and out of uniform. Even those that have had to deal with my own son have shown understanding and compassion. There will always be bad cops just like any other profession. I have the upmost respect for those that serve my community.
  15. Definition of massacre to kill unnecessarily and indiscriminately, esp. a large number of persons To me 35 people killed in one place is a large number of people.

  20. Very eloquently written. Thank you.
  21. I actually know of what you speak. I was living in a very close knit community and ward. We had all built homes at the same time (new subdivision) so basically were all moving in at the same time. Everyone was friends, everyone helped each other. You have no idea how many sod laying parties we had. Once people found out I was getting divorced I saw an instant transformation come over people. Those that used to call me everyday or I them no longer called. I was no longer invited to parties in the neighborhood. I became an outcast. I don't know if they felt I was then a threat or no longer fit into their mold. I moved to a new community and new ward and the people have been wonderful. It was a good move for me.

  25. Absolutely PC. Well said. All the good deeds in the world won't save you if there are things that need to be changed and repented of. That is first and foremost.
