One day when your mom is home with you just ask her if you can call and get the ball rolling, and you can hand her the phone when they need the ok from her. That way her part would only take about a minute. Good luck... I remember how anxious I was to drive when I turned 16, so I feel for you. OTOH, maybe your mom is afraid for you to drive. I can't imagine my child driving on his own... makes me so nervous to think about. Please drive carefully. It's typical teenage mentality to think that you are immune to death, but so many teenagers die each year bc of wrecklessness. So true Shanstress. Especially with the age of cell phones etc. They feel they can text and talk while driving. Not a good combination.

At least here in Utah...a child can drive your car while on their learners permit. Once they have their license you have to add that individual child and your insurance rates jump quite a bit. Even with a good student discount when I added my daughter it went up $60 a month. It will rise even more dramatically when I add my two boys in the next few months. If finances are a hardship I can see where a parent might need to hold off on adding a child.

I have a shuffle. It's been great for what I needed it for. The only thing I dislike on it is no face. You can't search for a particular song. My kids all have nanos and love them.

I used to have something like this happen to me when I was a teenager. I would wake up. I couldn't move and I would have this terrible feeling of evil around me. I would try and call out for my parents but couldn't speak. This went on for months and months. I finally had my Bishop give me a blessing and it never happened again.

Okay an animal childhood story. We had a poodle by the name of Tou Petite Chason. We called him Tou Tou. Well anyway....my mom would have that dog groomed once a month. After about 5 years of the grooming expenses my dad decided he could save the family some money and do it himself. He had a hair cutting kit. He proceeded to take poor Tou Tou out to the garage to "groom" him. We knew there was trouble when my brother came in asking if there was a picture of a poodle in the Encyclopedia. My dad shaved every bit of that dog. Normally he had the little fluff on the top of the head. He was the ugliest thing I had ever seen. But that dog prounced around like he was "it." Oh btw....my mom never allowed my dad to groom him again.

Extremely controlling. She has to report every move as to how, when, why, with who and what time. Gets upset if she wants to do "family things." He wants to know why he's not invited since he is "part of the family." She can't participate in any of her high school activities. He expects all her free time to be spent with him.
