  1. And you Mormons, aren't you ashamed that this guy uses your religion as poliltical cover? __________________________________ You mormons? Honeybear, are you a separatist? ____________________________ WHJAT FLIGHT ARE YOU ON, YOU CRO MAGNON?????
  2. Doctrine and Covenants 122. Oh Monica, you might want to delve in to the scriptures also associated with your membership into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, i.e. BoM, D&C, PofGP, too. I think also, that since people seem to think nothing of taking his name and using it as a curse word, a good reason to not preach that he has a wife and children is that he must be very protective of his family. His personality thus demonstrated in the Bible alone (for Monica) indicates that he stuck up for and healed the sick, posessed etc. but ALLOWED himself to be crucified for the sins of the world. I'd say that is indicative of a very protective, self-sacrificing individual, as he proved himself to be. First off, Monica, I don't believe you are LDS and so that explains alot. You remind of Just Looking as she would go off on these lengthy posts, all Biblical and nothing of the scripture you prescribe to as a supposed member of the church. Also, (laying my sword aside)I believe the quote is: "I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with anyone who is unarmed." Thank you for that great quote Mrs. S. I have always enjoyed that one.
  3. You seem so familiar...mannerisms...have you been a member on another site? Anyway, that is the difference. God doesn't change. He will always reveal truths to and through his prophets, and to his sons and daughters. Article of Faith #9:"We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God." We need to have compassion on those who think that God has changed and doesn't do any more than personal revelation. That makes no sense if God is eternal and unchanging. Simply isn't logical and God must be logical to be the Master Mathmetician, Scientist, etc.
  4. A lot of people find Ray's approach to dialogue troubling, and the bold-faced section tells why. On the other hand, Ray comes from an evangelical background--one that is quite conservative. So, his approach resonates with me on one score: He believes the LDS gospel is for everyone, and is unashamed about aggressively pressing his cause. The claims of Joseph Smith, in the end, are either true or false, right or wrong, supremely blessed or wickedly deceiving. In the end there is no middle ground. Ray's approach might not be the style of those raised in the LDS Church, but I, quite frankly, find it refreshingly direct. Maureen, of course, you're right that not every non-LDS person comes here as an almost-converted investigator, waiting to be ushered in. I've stated several times that I come to share and learn. I'm mature enough to receive Ray's invitations to study, learn, believe, just as I am mature enough to issue my own such invitations in the right context. So, let the dialogue continue! BTW, why was it again that hell has to be eternal? I am so glad to have an association with Chap. He is a good and righteous man and I believe Father approves of his ways more than he approves of some of the LDS people we may run across. Question for Monica...why is it, as an LDS person as indicated below your avatar, do you never use any quotes from the BoM? You remind me of someone who was here a long time ago from a far away galaxy called Just Looking. Well the anonymous "they" say we all have a twin somewhere. It is so uncanny.
  5. Well, I think that Father is the one we should listen to about eating meat. Sparingly he says.I don't see anywhere where the more modern day prophets have said he doesn't mean that anymore. Comparing us to the various animals really isn't a valid analogy. We are human. The WOW says sparingly. Think about the reasons we shouldn't be addicted to things. Because we will leave here with the same addictions and such we have here. I think it is a kindness for him to tell us these things. After all, he has given us these guidelines for getting through mortality as easy as we can despite the corruption of flesh we deal with. We don't see the grand scheme of things and the WOW is no doubt an eternal principle. We are cheating ourselves if we do not obey. There must be a reason he doesn't want us to over indulge in eating another living creature. Perhaps something we aren't ready to accept in this mortal state. Everything commandment we have been given has an eternal principle involved.IMHO
  6. What does this say about the truthfulness of what the Savior taught and the teaching power of the Spirit. Luke never met the Savior. What a wonderful man Luke was and no doubt still is. I am always amazed how the Spirit teaches a broken heart and a contrite spirt.
  7. One more thing. There is a bitterness in you that seems to feed on being as snide as you can be. Who wants to interact with someone who is just plain mean? I don't recall reading anywhere that he didn't think our members are not worth his time. Every member there is worth his time. I feel sorry for you. I can't fathom going through life just being bitter and sniping at good people you have never even intereacted with. I don't recall seeing YOU in the chat HERE very much either, speaking of interacting.
  8. Wow, let's all attack Tony, huh? Posts of substance? Do you mean by that, posts that are insulting? Or what YOU deem of substance? Because if that is the case half the posts on this site would be under fire, including most of mine. This is not the way to win friends and influence people. This is getting goofy here. Everything seems to have become a p***ing contest. I quarantee that you could come to LDSCity and be welcomed no matter how ridiculously inane or vitriolic you choose your posts to be. Tony would not attack you because he is a NICE man. He doesn't patronize people as if they were school children either.
  9. HEHEHEHEHEHEHEH.
  10. LOL! Search your soul, Soulsearcher! I think there may be a double "DRAT!!!!!!" in there. LOL! B)
  11. Well lets not get all sappy. He isn't dead.
  12. Why don't we just save up the moments of silence and just have a big one someday. A big moment of silence for all the times he has died. Monica, you know who Setheus is, surely you remember him. You were here when he was still here. If not it is a shame because you have something in common. In fact, I think you two kind of know each other, if I am not mistaken. I could be wrong though...B)
  13. That is basically what I said. Those that chose to be evil will leave here with the same attitudes they had here. They enjoyed sin and evil here then hell won't be eternal enough for them. If it weren't, like I said, what fun would that be for them.
  14. For those consigned to hell, they chose in life what they chose so they must like to be separated from Father. So what fun would hell be for them if it wern't eternal. Just a thought...
  15. Personally, I don't believe he is dead due to his past track record. This sister who IMd me to tell me wasn't too forthcoming with details of his funeral except the color of his pearl-white casket. Wouldn't say where anyone could send flowers. She was VERY forthcoming about the path of the bullet and the damage it caused. Personally, I believe it is another one of his sick, twisted, disgusting scenarios. He needs to be put away. He has told me that he is still on THIS site under a secret name. (?) I am not inclined to believe this whole thing. Just relaying what this "sister" said. My assistant and I have checked obits in the state where he lives and there is no record of this death or any story in the papers about it. I even checked two other states that he has been associated with with no results. If by some REMOTE chance it is true, then I am sorry for these harsh words as it isn't nice to speak ill of the dead, but like Pale said, he has done this many times, many places, usually after he is booted from a site. I am sure he will log on to this one under his one of many identities and read anything that anyone is saying. This sister wanted to know WHERE I was posting anything about her brother. But still not forthcoming as to WHERE anyone who might possibly care about him could send a card or drive by and throw a rock through the funeral home window. Plus changing the burial to Ancona when I said I would fly down to the funeral after I was told he would be buried in Morton, TX. I have had my assistant checking into details and as it stands neither of us believe he is actually dead. After all that has happened with him, I don't find Soul's words too harsh about the world pretty much being better off. The true tragedy here is this incessant need he has to hurt people just because he can. Research on our part has indicated that he is mentally ill, etc. It is a shame to have to suspect any new member that comes to the site but he will be back again and again. The boy who cried wolf. We all know that story. Sincerely, Sugarbay
  16. Someone saying that she was the sister of former menber Setheus contacted me and told me that he had passed away this morning after three days on life support form a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face. His body is being shipped to Ancona where he will be buried on Saturday. This is information given to mne by someone on his MSN who says she is his sister, and she contacted me previously to let me know that he had done this. She was very secretive about me or anyone sending flowers and wouldn't give me anywhere to send them. I just wanted everyone to know that this is what is happening. In the advent that this is true info and not another hoax, I want you to know that he had talked of suicide for the last week. It is a shame to think that it may be another sick and twisted trick again, but in case it isn't I wish to extend sympathy to those here that did care about him. Sincerely. Sugarbay
  17. Well, goodbye then. Sincerely, Sugarbay
  18. Shanhaighed? Nobody held a gun to anyone's head to go visit there. No one held one to your head to go visit there, and it hasn't stopped anyone from being here either. Wow, that's a lot a venom, Lindy. It has nothing to do with loyalty at all. It has everything to do with just another place to visit, where people are welcomed and not put down because they sign up here too. Plenty of member from there are members here now too. The door swings both ways. I am really surprized at you with this FULL BORE shanghaighed thing. Very surprized. Do you mean to say that anyone who visits another site on the vast internet is a traitor? There are a lot of sites, even LDSchat sites, that plenty of the members here frequent, not just LDSTalk and LDSCity. Are those who chat in Yahoo or MSN to receive this same condemnation? I am completely amazed at this outburst, as it ridiculous to think that anyone could hijack, kidnap, or otherwise shanghai willing people to go anywhere. And remember, the people from here who visit over there still come here. Apparently not with much welcome. If nothing else, I will enjoy being a pariah here. It gives me a very clear idea who was a purtported friend, now the rattlesnake under the chair. Never know when it is going to strike. Sad. Sorry you feel that way. If you would like your name taken off of the list over there, please contact one of the mods or the administrator and it will be done.
  19. Ex-male members and male non-members do not hold the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood so the issue is moot. Reminds me of something my grandfather used to say: "Howard and Maeve sittin' on a fence, tryin' to make a dollar out of fifteen cents." No membership=no priesthood. Like I said, cerebral succotash. Bon appetit. B)
  20. Yikes. Guns blazing.
  21. Thank you, that is what we have been trying to say all along. I am a moderator over there and we have really great members and that is because some of them are you guys and it is great to see you there.
  22. I find it so curious that you will spell Satans name thereby giving him "publicity" but you leave the "o" out of GOD and out of the LORD. Seems it might be backwards. IMHO. It isn't written that way in the scriptures nor in cinference talks. Hmmm.
  23. Dror, this is one of the best answers ever to appear here. I like your straightforward answer. It is what it is.
  24. It doesn't take along time to find the truth if it is sitting on my desk in the form of the scriptures, or in the form of a phonecall to priesthood holders. It goes rather fast actually when the truth is right there and handy. If I were looking for ways around the truth it might take a longer time. Time isn't the issue here, the truth is. The truth is that when a man turns his back on his covenants and the truth, he will struggle along gamely. However, he will struggle along without the the Holy Priesthood. One must be worthy to call upon and exersize this power. To make a rather elementary corollary, just because I used to be to be a great shot doesn't mean that I am now if I don't practice and I don't have ammo and I don't have a gun. There are certain things you need to have and do to be a great shot. You must have the constant companionship of the Holy SPirit to access the powers of heaven. You must honor your covenants and live righteously. The faith required to be healed is not just on the shoulders of the afflicted one, it very much depends upon the true and lasting faith of the bearer of the Melchizedek Priesthood. When we do what we are supposed to do, then Father, as he states, is bound. He has to do what he has promised or he wouldn't be God. To believe and argue that a man can use the Melchizedek Priesthood and give a blessing when he is not a member of the church and does not honor that priesthood which he held, and does not live the principles of the gospel, is just so much cerebral succotash. Intentioned. My seminary teacher had a saying: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." Of course, she was saying when someone would be late and used the excuse that they INTENDED to be on time. Father certainly is going to listen to heartfelt prayer from anyone willing to have a humble heart, we are his children after all, but the actual POWER of the priesthood, the actual POWER in this universe and beyond that holds us on this planet, even gravity, the POWER that cures someone of MS, the POWER that seals families for eternity, is only accessable through the POWER of Heaven, which is the Melchizedek Priesthood, the HOLY PRIESTHOOD OF GOD. You can argue this until the Savior shows up and taps you on the shoulder and says, "Jason, we need to talk" and it still will not change the truth. Some things are true whether you believe them or not. Respectfully. Sugar (needed some color)
