Have you ever read Genesis properly? God created man in his own image before he made them male and female. To suggest that there must be a woman in heaven for females to be created in God's image is a good indication that you do not understand the bible well.If there was a heavenly mother, why didn't Jesus mention her? If there was some education behind that strength that would be much more impressive.

12 Reasons Why Gays Should Not Be Allowed To Marry
Tr2 replied to Pahoran's topic in General Discussion
After viewing this thread I can understand why anti-gay marriage argument has gone nowhere. People need to start thinking logically if you are going to convince anyone that homosexuality is wrong. -
Satan was created as an angelic being, therefore satan is neither male nor female. "he" is just in the context that we can understand more about "him".

I guess a heavenly mother wasn't important enough for Jesus to mention even ONCE! I have come to the conclusion that every wacko who says God has revealed something new to them is just trying to bring their own opinions into play. I have read the bible many times, and even taken numerous seminary level courses in biblical scriptures and history. There is nothing in the bible to give any avalidity whatsoever to a heavenly mother. Every time I see somebody try and claim that God has revealed something new to them, it's almost always an attempt to take away from the bible and impliment something totally new. They are nothing but fiction. Stop calling yourselves Christians if you are going to make up what you are going to believe. Christians are people who base their views based on what the bible says, not what some wacko says. God does honor women, but there is no such thing as a heavenly mother.

I thank God for Judas. Jesus would have never made it to the cross without him.

So you are willing to put your faith in something that there is no good reason to believe in? I'll put my faith in something that was actually documented, not something that may have been overlooked by every NT author. There are 66 books in the bible with over a dozen authors and none of them thought enough of the idea of a heavenly mother, that should give you enough information about how real she is. And nothing even remotely close to that came out of the mouth of Jesus. My wife jokes about God being a woman, but we use that concept as humor. The idea of a heavenly mother is laughable. Do you have faith in fairies, unicorns and leprechauns too?

Did Jesus have a ministry that was officially recognized by the religious community? Jesus was 12 the first time he had the religious leaders in awe. He obviously wasn't married then. Paul wasn't married, though at one point in time he was because you had to be married to be a Pharisee. There is a very simple reason why not one of the 4 gospel authors mentions Jesus' wife. Jesus didn't have a wife. In fact the NT refers to the Christian church as the bride of Christ. A person didn't necessarily have to be 30 years old to have a ministry. The reason Jesus didn't have a ministry until 30 yrs old was because of his parents. In Jewish culture, until a man reached the age of 30, he was subject to the authority of his parents and grandparents. How his parents pulled him out of the temple at 12 is a good indication of his parents views on him being in a ministry. There is zero biblical basis for believing in a heavenly mother.

No he wasn't. But that kind of information is concealed in books.

I will give you a heads up. This movie is the most extreme you have ever seen or imagined. remember when Saving Private Ryan and Braveheart took gore to the next level? This film does the same thing, but on a greater scale. I once attended a 2 hr session about the crucifixion ritual. We learned everything there is to know about what happened to people. Nothing caught me by surprise but visualizing what I knew was coming was still kind of extreme. I am also a 10+ yr paramedic who'se seen everything there is to see. Keep in the back of your mind that this will be the most violent thing you will ever see. But i do feel it is a good movie.
-
Saw it yesterday. Thought it was a good representation of the crucifixion ritual. It's about time somebody thought to make the crufifixion seem like a bad thing. The only way you can find the anti-semetism is if you have a persecution complex.

I remember reading about that. I'd like to know what was going through her head at that moment. I do wonder if she was aware of what he was going to do to her if she said the wrong thing, or if she knew full well that's he'd shoot her. Either way she did stick to her guns in the face of a terrible situation.
-
Only if you have had a gun pointed at you will you know what you'd do. People surprise you when they're faced with extreme circumstances. I've seen guys I thought were tough as nails hesistate and retreat while the guys I'd have picked to run did the best. But if you know you'd run, you're probably right! snow insulting somebody who doesn't think like him, how out of character!

Please show some respect.
-
YOU DO YOUR OWN LAUNDRY!!! Snow is just trying to justify somebody elses ****** behavior by pointing a finger at me. Typical.

If you want to talk about me, start a new thread. Stop changing the subject when it deals with something you cannot handle.

snowball, If you're going to get involved in this discussion then do so. I am not interested in your one-liners. Save it and go away.

Oh get off your throne!Even if he was in darkness, what kind of human being sees another in darkness and does nothing to help, as you are doing to everyone who doesn't agree with you? Very very selfish.
-
You are doing a piss poor job of convincing me of anything. You say I don't have the educational background to understand it, but have yet to prove that you are educated enough on it to explain it.
-
Oh well if a tree is documented in the BoM and is little found in other history books then that must prove it true.Native Americans documented sightings of sasquatches before the landing of the europeans, long before there were Patterson films or Harry and the Henderson movies. They called them the men of the woods who couldn't be killed. Native Americans have been around a lot longer than mormons, so I guess by your logic they have to be the real truth.
-
I am asking you to explain to me why that article proves the BoM true. Connect the dots for me. By refusing to connect those dots you are indeed proving that you do not know what you're talking about. If you know what you're talking about, then show me.
-
It's like talking to a retarded dog. I did read it, that is why I asked the question. Don't know where this came from, but you can crawl back into the hole you came from.
-
How does that prove the BoM?
-
How full of yourself are you to find others opinions "entertaining"?
-
I am noticing a trend here. There is talk about men giving power, institutions giving power, etc. Not seeing a whole lot about God here, mostly about people. Obviously this discussion is about people, but I did think God would be more part of the discussion. Just interesting how people see this issue. If you can see the whites of their eyes, then they can see yours. Sneak up on the SOB's and shoot them when they aren't looking.
-
I'm not seeing how this validates the historical truth of the BoM. If this tree means the BoM is true then can I go read a history book, find out what plants were growing in the 1500's, tie that into my story, and that makes it all true?
