Concerning missionary work I gave BoM's to 4 different relatives and friends recently and out of the 4, 2 are actually reading from it.

Some peeps get offended easily...like meeee :)

When things get out of hand, it happens a lot quicker and more violent if thiers drinking involved. If this is allowed then maybe drugs and smoking too.

Probably had something to do with the "personal nature" thingy.

Actually there was a stake leader or pres.(I forget which) organizing this thing trying to get another stake pres. to go in on it, but wouldn't. This was all organized mostly in secret using lies. I wouln't say the church was involved in this at all. I would say it was caused by a few members, not the church.

That contention is evil.

I'm sure these people think its a status thing.

Two young children alone is a tough go, let alone being about to add another. Your husband, I suspect is feeling poorly about the failing marriage and is trying to hurt you by saying such foolishness. I am hoping you are realizing that you are probably not so much at fault here and that you will allow your self esteem to remain where it should be.

I had Anglican roots as well....As Ram has said it is quite apparent that the gospel is for the perfecting of the saints. Members are at all different levels of maturity. Whenever I feel myself looking somewhat judgemental at another which is easy to do, I try hard to steer away from this attitude which contributes to negative feelings, realizing I am a sinner as well.

Don't need to waste your money or time. If the subject comes up its easy enough to correct the error in conversation on its own.

I was also thinking maybe your dad has more of a problem with acohol then you might think. I'm not saying its a huge problem, just a tad more then you think.

I think very very few if any would get to a state of a fulness of knowledge in this life.

If your going by what it says at lds.org. the church had nothing to do with this. Council from Pres.Young was to be ready for self defense and escape into the mountains if necessary.

If it wasn't mentioned yet, a letter has to be presented from the husband or x before the wife or x can have this done.

God in many instances, works in, what seems to us, mysterious ways.

The titles are mostly just to keep things organized. After a little time you'll get used to it and more comfortable.

I know about 5 different families, leaving relatives behind that have moved to Utah. Not any of them have come back and from what I've heard are there to stay.

I was a member for over 20 years and had not recieved any feelings whatsoever about this book and yet I had read from it everyday for the first 7 years. It wasn't until I decided to spend a little more time with it that it started to come alive. Now almost everyday I read from the book, I'm shown the reality of it's great power.

Those that are converts who have got caught up in almost everything worldly you can think of, have somewhat a better ability to help those going through the same problems. The person knowing that another has experienced the same, is a benefit on its own. Many times missionairies search out members for this reason.

A more important question is, does God want you there? I don't have to answer that one.

As it is many times impossible to get an exact account from history, what is your or others opinion on this. I havn't done much reading of this event (never did like history much but getting more interested). I would appreciate any answer from you Elphaba.
