  1. lol you think the laws we live under now are strict or provide a lack of freedom, wait to see what the millenium will be like..what I said earlier dosen't take away freedom whatsoever if thats what you implying
  2. Omnipotence may not mean what you think. For example can God make something exist from nothing, or does God follow laws and if so, can He break them? I think what is important is that God will always know more then mortal's up until we become as He is. Also we are actually givin weakness's that we might be humble. It was lack of humility that caused Lucifer to fall.
  3. Brought a tear to my eye just reading this.
  4. I would rather live in a country that has laws that promote good myself and the more the better. I would like adultry to be punishable and lieing as well. These laws don't take away freedom at all.
  5. I think being reborn is a changing of one's life from that of his own will the God's will. I believe this can happen many times as we make mistakes in life. I don't feel the Holy Ghost at all times and I feel like I am reborn when I feel that wonderful strong influence, which for me, happens quite often, but never often enough.:)
  6. With the way things are and the moving around that you do, its no wonder your on a holiday. Try to not feel too discouraged.
  7. Also there are many medications that cause wieght gain.
  8. Fructose is actually a poison to the body when injested without fibre. Fructose is naturally present in a lot of fruits, however when we eat the fruit as a whole this fructose is a benefit. What happens when too much fructose is takin in without enough fibre... the signal that tells us we are full is delayed and therefore we eat a little then we normally would. This fructose for reasons I won't say here, has been added to many products in our grocery stores. For instance almost every kind of bread has fructose added.
  9. From what I saw, thats my fav kind of movie.
  10. Totaly true. Most peeps don't know this including most doctors and scientists.
  11. Not long ago our stake conducted a joint relief society and priesthood lesson. The subject was on the scriptures. The teacher asked for a show of hands how many were reading scripture daily, there was quite a few hands raised. Next he saked how many spent 20 or 30 minutes. All was silent for awhile as only 2 or 3 raised thier hand. Of the 99% of members I have talked to about this only the missionairies are doing this. On the average people find the BoM easiest and most interesting to read. It is also a commandment to read scripture daily. Is it that hard to decide what might be best to read? I find it just as hard to get anti mormonists to understand this as I do most members. It's like anything else concerning spiritual things, you have to do it before you can know or experience it. I endured 30 years as a member before realising this amazing scripture reading magic.
  12. We all have our weakness's of which can be made into strengths. This is a long process and we are also givin weakness's that we might remain or be humble.
  13. Another point that can be made here is the fact that most of us will not make it to the top degree in which case the higher the better. Would a person rather go to outer darkness or a telestial degree for an extreme example.
  14. You cannot get away from the fact we all sin to some degree no matter how hard we try. The less the better so ya, it does matter.
  15. Nobody has said you have to read one at a time. To get much benefit from reading scripture your gonna want to take at least read 20 minutes daily. You'll see which one you'll tend to want to spend more time with.

    Hi

Thank you, glad to be here.:)
  17. I agree with Faded concerning Isaiah. After a few readings in that book it gets much better. He has a certain way of writing that is unique. Over time if you allow it to happen you will find Isaiah to be quite a wonderful read.
  18. We are all judged in this life differently for the same sin. This is because we all have different degrees of knowledge and time is also a factor. The only way I can tell in my little world if I'm doing ok or not is whether or not I can feel the influence of the Spirit.
  19. The longer the book, the better I like it.:)
  20. Actually God does change things a little according to the times we are living in. For instance in biblical times it was unlawful to marry another who was devorced, it being called adultry. Today in Gods eyes we can marry someone devorced. There are many more examples of that going on today in the church. Some of the laws put forth by Moses were slightly changed in New Testament times as well.
  21. I have read all the standard works cover to cover. For me there is not much of a comparison. What was it Joseph Smith said concerning this book. I have never been closer to God then when I take the time to read this amazing book. Ever since I decided to read at least half an hour daily in this book, of which has been about 4 years now, well, I just don't have the words. It's amazing that it took so long for me to take this time everyday to read scripture. On many occasions over an hour will go by before ending my reading time. I now fully understand what is being said when I hear this book is priceless.

    Hi

I've been a member for over 30 years now and it has been quite a ride. At the age of 24, I think it was, I was baptized and totaly active for 7 years. I stopped attending for a few years up until about 6 years ago. According to how I have been feeling the last 4 years, I can't see myself going inactive again.
