  1. Where does it say we were created from a matter called intelligence which always were in existance or something like that?
  2. I think it was justice who mentioned it wouldn't matter if Jesus was married or not as yet. He could just as easily have it happen during the millenium. Could even take place at a temple tonight for that matter.:)
  3. Took me years in the church to figure out why I wasn't feeling very positive or spiritual to the point that I wanted. When I made the commitment to read the scriptures more diligently, it made huge difference for me.
  4. Us older fella's get a bit fuzzy once in awhile. :)
  5. Oh yep, sorry about that, you are correct. My mistake. Foot in mouth. Wait till you see how it feels to have both feet in da mouth...very uncomfortable.:)
  6. I have a very good friend who lives a good life, is a temple worker and such who has said for years that Jesus must have been married during his mortal life here. As for myself, I have no idea one way or the other. I do believe it was not neccesary.
  7. I don't know much about this and plan no investigation. lol j/k...
  8. The reason I mentioned anything concerning the Bishop is becuase I have heard Bishopric's complain many times that members are often setting up needless appointments concerning repentance.
  9. To me the knowledge of something like this has nothing to do with salvation.
  10. All that I have learned about God through the LDS church makes good common sense to me. It seems to me the good things I see around me are very closely related to the way heaven is, just on a much grandeur scale.
  11. lol reminds of how it can sometimes take me 10 minutes to read 2 verses.
  12. Some things I have read in the BOM are very questionable. They are very few and this might be one of them. Moroni talks about mistakes in the record and so does Nephi and Mormon as well.
  13. Never will cease to impress me the way some people can tackle the bible, let alone the Old Testament.
  14. I've been taught differently.
  15. now I see says the blind man
  16. That one question alone could be all that is asked, as I recall.
  17. 2. The scriptural writings of these years of his life include doctrine we are not ready to receive and will be found with the other books of scripture we will be given when all the tribes are gathered and Christ comes again. . First time I have heard this. Is there a source for that?
  18. I realise its a weak statement but I wonder if Nephi was lacking the knowledge or may not of had a full understanding of our day with some of the other fine Christian churches that have been established. Or maybe he just didn't see the need to explain more fully what he was trying to say, considering the difficulty of what it was like to write on metal. Also I have read that it was difficult to explain exactly what was meant because of the language they were using. It explains somewhere in the BOM that if they had used hebrew there would have been no mistakes of this kind.
  19. Hou have me somewhat at a lose with that one John.:) I can smell the wood burning.
  20. When you say you need to see the Bishop concerning repentance, your talking about the more grievous sins for example adultry, fornication, murder etc. aren't you.
  21. Tape recorder was used when I had mine. Every blessing is stored by the church, I guess mostly for those that have been lost.
  22. Joseph Smith said the Book of Mormon will bring you closer to God then any other book. I remember the former prophet counciling the church to read the BOM more then once. Yes we are told to read all scripture but the BOM was seperately mentioned more then once that I have heard. I have never heard anyother standard work stressed in the same manner. I read about an hour of scripture daily and have felt the Spirit stronger when I read from the BOM. Can you hazard a guess which I would place first?
  23. I agree...maybe 2% may be in error.
  24. Perhaps the most devastating thing that has happened to me was mentioned in my blessing. Too bad it took so many years to see it. In my case I'm happy to say 'better late then never'. :)
