  1. These two words are found everywhere in the scriptures. You will find both words in the same sentence in dictionairys and yet I've been told there is a difference in thier meaning.
  2. As far as I'm concerned, no new thread needed.:) but I'm sure it would lead into many interesting thoughts. I used to wonder if this was because of the different methods males are brought up with as opposed to females until I learned about the different testostorone and estragene levels males and females are born with and the affects they have. Excuse the spelling plz.
  3. I remember that song so well. When the missionairies were teaching me about how we have a Mother in heaven, I had a hard time accepting it. The day told me about this was on a saturday. The next day was the first time I heard it. I smiled as the missionairies turned around to see my reaction. I'm so glad my memory is still in tact. :)
  4. The most difficult thing for almost all people to accept is personal responsibility. I have noticed this time and time again and is most understandable. I like to think I'm innocent but it is not reality. All of the times I have got into serious trouble in the past, I can see it has been my own fault. The more I realise this, the more it inspires me to improve, not that I'm living bad enough that I can't hold onto a temple recommend which seems pretty easy for me, just that I need to grow if I want to stay out of trouble. Remember how those first few months felt as a new convert? So many stop coming out not long after thier conversion. I was one of those so many people but luckily I came back. Luck is probably not the right word.
  5. I have too much interest for truth to go anywhere else. Also I am selfish:) and want all the blessings I can get in this life and the next.
  6. "Which is why G-d can justly extend his mercy and require that the Messiah atone for the sins of all mankind" I've been taught He atoned only for repented sins, however all will benefit from the atonement by being resurrected.
  7. I think we do know enough to make to make well informed choices just by the fact we are human. We don't operate by instink as animals do. It is a gift from God that we know or have a sense of good and evil therefore I think we are capable of making totally informed choices. It is possible to reduce this effect through sin. If a person lives in sin enough, the ability to know right from wrong can completely be wiped out. This is extremely rare but I have seen it. The man looked and acted very much like an animal, performing feats like you wouldn't believe. This was on a Pierre Burton show. Those of us old enough might remember that highly respected show. It took quite some time for the law to catch this criminal. I'll never forget that face. Another thought that comes to mind is the fact that God, we learn can do no wrong. Does this mean He has lost the ability to choose? Not at all, it just means He chose good over evil which is the same choice we have here which cannot be takin away by any outside force whatsoever.
  8. I'd hate to come up against you as a lawyer in a court of law justice.:) I mean the one's that make too much sense. :)
  9. I guess you havn't noticed any contradictions within the New Testament as yet.
  10. Thousands, if not millions have come to realise that absolute truth concerning God can only come through the Holy Ghost.
  11. I remember one summer at a cottage about 40 years ago a group of us were seeing what appeared to be coloured stars ziggzagging across the sky. That same summer we also witnessed things that were of a satanic nature. Maybe the 2 were related.
  12. I have no idea about women being more righteous but I do believe, they possess a much higher sense of morality then most men.
  13. and I'm planning to get married soon aahhhh :)
  14. With the way the world is going that guy could boost ratings...
  15. lol let me know if this happens maybe I'll watch an episode or 2
  16. Are you asking how God came to be?
  17. I'm not a particular fan of Obama, but I'm really struggling to see how any of those infringe on anyone's civil rights. What have I missed? I could be wrong but I agree with you totally. I think discussions are a great benefit for increasing knowledge. When the debate starts getting a little heated I have no problem in giving anyone the last word.
  18. I have heard it said the reason the Mother or Mothers have not been mentioned is because our Father did not want Her ridiculed by Her children as He is which makes sense to me.
  19. Anything published by the church is considered scripture. The book Gospel Principles says we have heavenly parents.
  20. I don't recall saying the government should make laws to create a perfect society and even if it were so, it would in reality cause more freedom and happiness to take place. It dosen't matter what laws we live under, no one is being forced to obey them and that is where freedom come in. I hope we are discussing here and not anything else. I'm sorry if I'm sounding harsh or like a know it all. I find all your opinions highly intellectual and thought provoking which is why I post at all in the manner I do. To me, you are much more important then whats right or wrong. In many discussions there is no right and wrong, just opinions.
