  1. Hey Acez, That picture is cute. Wait a minute... Are you implying that I look like a monkey? LOL
  2. Sorry for my delay in getting back to you all. Yes, I have been confused, I will continue asking questions, AK, you are correct, thanks LionHeart, I think a zygote and an adult are, in essence, the same-both human, and Ray, I will pray for you sir. I'll have to continue some other time. Thanks all. Dr. T
  3. Lisajo Absolutely hilarious!!!! Thanks for that!
  4. Hello Ray, So to get this straight, when you say, you are saying that when the intelligences are infused into the human body, then that being exists. Therefore, humans are not beings until the intelligences posses the bodily form? You are also saying that the intelligences have always existed. We don’t know what they were like but they have always been. That is where my question comes in. Believing that they have always existed (somehow, someway) yet some people don’t believe that God has always been God doesn’t make sense to me. Now, you seem to believe that the species of god has always existed. I get confused though because you then say Can you clarify what you mean by species of god and race of god? That might help me understand what you are talking about. Finally, sorry about not being clear in what you are trying to tell me but I have to ask again. Humans can become gods and attain different levels of glory and it is or is not possible to attain the same amount of glory as the Heavenly Father that you worship? So, in the end, when you (for the point of argument) become a god, will you be as glorious as the God you worship or a lesser god? Thanks Ray, Dr. T
  5. Hello Dan, I am just learning so take my words about the LDS faith for what they are worth. As for the concept of omniscience, from what I've gathered here, some people believe that God attained omniscience through development. He eventually attained all knowledge through continued growth. Is that correct all? Thanks
  6. Hi MBASS, The kind that is very in debt!!!
  7. Hello Ray, Thank you for that great post! I respect the way your approach and the tone of that last post. You are correct. I have no idea what "intelligences" are. I was under the impression (based on what I'm reading) that they, whatever they are, have always been around. They are "eternal." If I'm incorrect on that, I'd love to learn/be corrected. You also said, Ok. I thought, based on LDS teachings, that the person you worship as God was once a man. If, once a man, it seems to follow that he was once not god. Or do you believe that all men are already god? Last question. You said What do you mean there Ray? I see that you say there are different degrees of glory. Does that mean that you can attain a less than degree of glory of the god you currently worship? Is there lesser and greater gods in you belief system?Thank you so much Ray.
  8. Hello Traveled one, My befuddlement was from the claim that people thought the Jesus was a Samaritan. As you are aware, there was immense hatred/conflict between the Israelite and Samaritan people. In the Jn. 8 passage that you posted, they are not actually saying that Jesus was literally a Samaritan from birth. They were basically making an accusation of "having things so backwards that He didn't know what He was talking about." Remember "A Samaritan" means more than "no Israelite at all"; it means one who pretended, but had no manner of claim to the title." It was a putdown of sorts. Dr. T
  9. Hello, I'm sorry for asking the same question of following ALL doctrine. Wouldl this include any type of sin? Thanks
  10. Thanks for your thought LionHeart. So, you believe that, with respect to existance, we (humans) are no different than God?
  11. Thank you for your thoughts MBASS
  12. Hello AK, There in lies my point AK. "What conclusion you draw based on them is up to you." The conclusions that we draw are based on biases. If you have a slant or an internal suggestion, you will be cued in a certain way. For you, reading the Bible falls in line with your other preconceived notions from the other books that you cited. We are all biased. It can't be avoided. We need to own our biases and then work from there. Dr. T
  13. Hey AK, You said, Does this make your testimony, and hence veracity of truth, carry the same value/knowledge as the Hindu, Jehovah Witness, Buddhist, New Ager, etc.? Is it really just a feeling that you are correct and can read verification of your beliefs in the literature that you read? Thanks
  14. Hello Allmosthumble, I understand. It usually takes awhile.
  15. I understand that and agree with you sir. There is a place for logic though. Wouldn't you agree? Will you please explain to me what a "testimony" is at its core? Is it just a justification, from our worldview, that supports our belief system? Thanks
  16. Thanks AK, So its "doctrine before logic." Just checking.
  17. Hello Traveler, What do you mean Jesus was called a Samaritan? I'm not familiar with that. From where did you get that? Thanks
  18. What I meant was the belief that God was not always God. He had to progress to that status. Intelligences have always been. Why is the concept of God always existing as God dismissed and intelligences as everlasting held?
  19. Hello All, Why is it held that intelligences are eternal but the idea that God is eternal is not viewed as a possibility? Thanks
  20. Hi Jason, Thanks for teh link. I read them and they talk about "the elect" but I do not see the parallel. Thanks
  21. Hello Ray, You say, in order to get into heaven, we must do all that God wants us to do. Sir, that is a tall order. Even at our best, do you really think that we can do ALL that He requires? What about attitude, thoughts, actions, etc.? Thanks
  22. I don't have my materials right in front of me. Can someone post what that says or provide a link? Can someone also explain what it is saying? Thanks
  23. Hello just_jason76, You seem to be contradicting yourself when you say that modern prophets do not supersede past prophets. You say you will continue to follow what prophets of old had to say and that the Lord has THE prophet still living that you will follow. To be clear on the apparent contradiction, what would you say about an old prophet saying something and then the new prophet saying something diametrically opposed to that? How can you follow both at the same time on the same subject in the same way if they are complete opposites? Thanks for your ideas.
  24. Hello MBASS, What is your understanding of fasting? Why is it used? What do you expect to happen? ect. Thanks
  25. Good observation Jason. What do you all thing of that assertion?
