  1. I use my QuikTrip Pumpstart card and pay inside afterward. Safe that way.
  2. KC did you catch any of the Writers Digest Conference in January?
  3. Happy Birthday. Here is your information on your new membership in the American Association of Reallyold People.AARP - Health, Travel Deals, Baby Boomers, Election News, Over 50, Online Games, Retirement Plan It has instructions on applying for a handicapped license plate, discounts on seeing eye dogs, and a guide to Denny's that offer senior discounts beginning at 4pm, so you can be in bed at 7.
  4. I love Nauvoo. My wife and I were married there just a few months after it opened.
  5. Happy Birthday Gwen, and thank you for your time as a mod even tho you once gave me an infraction (the nerve!...j/k). The service of all mods (even Pammie) is much appreciated by most of us. As with any volunteer position, many people don't realize the many hours spent. A mod has to act as referee when people act stupid, childish, mean, etc. I can only imagine that it is often like babysitting. Thank you.
  6. well we all a day closer to death every day. happy birthday anyways.
  7. Well, for the group of customers that I handle, we especially want them to know that they are not being routed out of the country. I even have special numbers for U.S. based tech support and fraud, even tho we also have reps in several other countries for those depts, not just India. I try to keep the calls onshore whenever possible.
  8. It seems to often be a new order of business for some authors..."E-book first, print book maybe"
  9. We answer the phone giving our name and location, specifically so they know they are speaking with someone in the United States. Still does not prevent email satisfaction surveys coming in saying language is an issue. I just had one the other day that came in saying SHE was hard to understand because SHE was in INDIA. I am NOT a she, nor is Kansas City in India. Funny tho that the sitcom "Outsourced" features a guy who is transferred from Kansas City to India.
  10. I am an Account Manager for a major credit card company. Yes, that means I answer phones in a call center. However, the team I am part of is highly specialized; there are only two of them in the company. My wife is an author, publisher, and hand-formats e-books. She has a very successful business, and is in high demand. She typically has about 80 requests for quotes at any given time, and is working on training a couple of people to do it for her.
  11. I went to a different ward than my official ward for almost a year. At first people in classes that didn't know me asked if I was visiting, to which I answered "sort of" ...others who knew me (previous ward, same building )asked if I had moved back. After 3-4 weeks, the bishop asked to meet with us. We explained our reasons, were not asking that our records be transferred. He let us know the consequence of not attending correct ward (no callings, no temple rec renewal) and said he would ask for our records to be transferred. I told him he could, but it didn't matter to us. When he informed me the request was denied I just shrugged and said ok. We continued until we were ready to go back to the other ward.

  13. 9lbs 11oz...just pray for a small head!
  14. Bini, you can do it on wal-marts website.
  15. When I visit businesses and the service is outstanding I take down the person's name so I can use it for feedback.
  16. I regularly fill out feedback forms. Some when it is on my receipt, some I will pro-actively go to a company website and contact them that way. I do this for both good and bad feedback. I am always mindful if the rep/waitress/customer service person was the issue or not. I work in a call center, and it is very frustrating when a customer gets a survey about their phone experience and the rag on the company, say I was helpful, but in the numerical rating rate me low. It is rare tho. Sometimes I get good responses from companies. When I don't it affects me dealing with them again.
  17. Hey Loudmouth! Staaaaaaaaaaaaaay Demented!
  18. Welcome, glad you are here. You may or may not appreciate some of the humor here. Especially that of certain cookies. :)
  19. My wife was angry about the people blaming Sarah Palin for this shooting. She tweeted about it, saying in essence that all the blaming was going to make Palin a target. Her tweet was put in with a bunch of hateful tweets about Palin and a you tube video was made. It made FOX News. FoxNews.com - Palin Targeted in Violence-Tinged Tweets Following Arizona Massacre
  20. Pam, The Chiefs lost yesterday. Yes I actually expected it. I don't like it. But if you hadn't been rooting for the ravens, the chiefs wouldn't have played so stupidly throwing tha ball to the wrong people. Happy Birthday to me. :-( it's all your fault.
  21. This thread should be closed and Pam should get an infraction for linking to a scantily clad idiot shaking her woman parts.
