  1. What do you consider the purpose of speaking in tounges? Josh B)
  2. If I understand what your saying correctly, God would not allow His word to be misrepresented, and so they must have gotten it right? Josh B)
  3. Strangely enough...again I agree with Brother Dorsey, to Mormons all other christians sects should be considered an "abomination" before the Lord. And so BD, is only doing his "christian" duty... I respect you for standing up for your beliefs completely Brother Dorsey. Although I completely disagree with them. Josh B)
  4. Lionheart, could you do me a personal favor. clear up some thing for me... Do Mormons believe that more than one God exist? God served his "god" right? and so on and so on... I guess I could be wrong about mormon beliefs... Thanks Josh B)
  5. I don't pretend to understand that....but my favorite answer so far... Josh B)
  6. "God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens. That is the great secret... It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the character of God and to know...that he was once a man like us. Here, then, is eternal life--to know that only wise and true God, and you have got to learn how to become Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you. .. God himself, the father of us all dwelt on an earth the same as Jesus Christ." - The Prophet Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 342-345, also quoted heavily by the church, see Gospel Principles, Chapter 47. 1. There are many gods, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163.) 2. "And they (the Gods) said: Let there be light: and there was light (Book of Abraham 4:3) Josh
  7. No offense, But if what you're saying is an offical Mormon belief, I recount my prior admission that Mormons are Christians. Josh
  8. Allow me to respectfully disagree...I believe faith can, and should be proved. Josh B) Well, like I mentioned in another thread, A friend of mine once told me that he was attending a class on religion at B.Y.U. and the professor held up a K.J.V. Bible and said to the students: "Give me any topic, any topic at all, and I can prove it right with this book; however, I can also prove it wrong with this same book." From this we gather that something that might prove a certain religion right according to one person might prove it wrong to another person. It is all a matter of how we understand it. L.H. I am only asking for your opinion. Josh B)
  9. So what your saying is...if...lets say before I became a Christian, I killed someone....More likely then not God would not forgive me?! Josh
  10. Well Desiré I honestly don't understand your way of thinking... You base your entire faith (against the evidence) on your "spiritual experiances" Yet you also say "I believe satan and his angels can appear to you as well." All I'm asking is...How can there be "many gods" (Which the Mormon church believes even if you do not) When throughout the Bible it clearly says...."There is only one God" To not only ignore the physical evidence, but to not even attempt to explain an apperent contradiction...because of your "spiritual experiances" is, in my opinion, unwise. If you research it, and answer all the contradictions (even if only to yourself) then...good for you. But...to ignore difficult questions because you are "sure" ...is not wise. If you are correct about everything, then you will find the answers and you will have afirmed your faith and be a more effective witness for you faith. If not...you will know the truth. sincerely, Your brother in Christ Josh B)
  11. Ok LionHeart, I don't agree with you (probably because I don't accept the Book of Mormon or the Pearl of Gerat Price as true) I also think the that the "eternal progression" theory, is in direct confilict with the..."There is only one God" verses throughout the Bible. (where do you think the first God came from?) I don't agree with you, but I think I understand what you think better now. (Desiré still confuses my though ) Thank you very much for all you help, and your time. :) Josh B)
  12. Allow me to respectfully disagree...I believe faith can, and should be proved. Josh B)
  13. HOLD THAT THOUGHT!!!! Please explain your opinion. Josh B)
  14. You didn't read all the posts did you? Josh B) ....(but thanks for making my arugement)
  15. What evidence do your present for Jesus being married? Josh B)
  16. Explain to a religiously-observant Jew that the God of the Old Testament is Jesus! (Hint: I'd keep a fair amount of distance between you, if you do--and a good defensive posture). Love to see a video of that "disscussion"... Josh B)
  17. So you are saying He fullfilled all the temple ceromonies while on earth? What does that entail exactly? (for Him to become a god) Baptism...? Josh B)
  18. Thank you Brother Dorsey, Helpful as always.... :) Hello everyone! :) up till now, we have all been disscussing my questions...I choose the "battleground" you could say. But I'd like to give you more then just a chance to defend yourself... I'd like to see your offense. Why should anyone believe Mormonism? (not counting feelings of course) If we discount my questions...and start with a blank slate...what is your "proof" so to speak? Josh B)

  20. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! (just kidding) But what about my question! Josh B)
  21. BD, do you understand the theroy of relativity? I'm not sure I completly understand it either, I mean it's kinda strange don't you think? How can time be relative?! My take is that it's a huge conspiracy of Satan...I mean, God wouldn't do something I don't understand! (I'm burning all the clocks in the house now...) Josh B)
  22. A. Throughout the Bible are spoken of as both seperate beings (I think you can agree with that, or else why would they have different names?) B.And also, all three are spoken of as equal to God..., in some cases the names are used interchangeably, and in some cases they flat out claim to be the same "being" I don't think you agree that "they flat out claim to be the same 'being'" are you sure? C.To complicate things further...again and again through out scripture we are told there is only one God. Also, I you believe there are countless "gods" for example....God's (before he was "god") god..... To reach conculsion #3, you must dispute one or more of these points, which one('s) ? Josh B)
  23. The only way you can disagree with my logic, is if you dispute A. Throughout the Bible are spoken of as both seperate beings (I think you can agree with that, or else why would they have different names?) B.And also, all three are spoken of as equal to God..., in some cases the names are used interchangeably, and in some cases they flat out claim to be the same "being" C.To complicate things further...again and again through out scripture we are told there is only one God. 24. So to complete His...becoming a God...He did the temple ceromonies on earth...or he will do them during the 1000 year reign? Why did Jesus get to make his choice in "pre-mortal existance" but we have to choose without the memory of heaven during our lifetime here on earth? Josh B)
