Go Eowyn! I agree :)

I agree with you Vort, you do have a right to an opinion. Everyone has a right to their own opinions. Your opinions are yours and yours alone. But... you can only relate so much unless you have been through it yourself. Your opinion may likely be diminished in the eyes of others who have been through it. This is because you lack that exact experience. For example, men will probably never know what child birth is like, despite experiencing physical pain and despite researching it.

Do you spirtually prepare for General Conference

I am thinking this thread is too simple, particularly for the Gospel Discussion section, lol. If any moderator wants to move this to the advice section- full speed ahead -
Need to confess to priesthood authority?
Treble.clef replied to nate777's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
It's up to you of course. Me? I would tell both the Bishop and my spouse. I think honesty is essential to marriage. I would want my spouse to tell me! Would I be upset? Definitely. Would I divorce? Probably not, at least not without giving marriage counseling and Bishop meetings a good try, along with prayer and fasting. I would also want to meet both with the Bishop and my spouse. Bottom line is, tell the Bishop and he will direct you through inspired counsel. It might be easier to tell your wife after telling the Bishop, he should give you essential advice. I have been in a similar situation but different sin. I questioned not telling the Bishop, rationalized, made excuses, thought maybe I really don't need to. It added to my reasons for going inactive. Well, I finally did tell the Bishop and what a burden made light! I felt SO much better. I did not worry anymore. I did not convince myself anymore- because I knew. I wish I had told the Bishop much sooner. It might not be a question of God forgiving already or not, it might be a question of what do you need to do to forgive yourself? My two cents. -

I can read/take your comment with and also without sarcasm. I wonder if you mean to be sarcastic. -

Do you spiritually prepare for General Conference in any way(s)? Or do you not? Do you mind sharing? I don't usually. I feel if I do more each time it could be really beneficial. Maybe I can find a suggestion(s) that myself and others will benefit from :) -
I think the Bishop would take the email as a compliment, not strange in any way!

I volunteer on Fridays instead

Thanks everyone for the replies. I ultimately decided to not volunteer on Sunday.

Thanks Pam!

Someone is bored

Ha. That did not answer my question though.

Is it possible to delete an account? Thanks.

What do you think about volunteering on Sunday? I am considering it. A local animal rescue really needs help with animal care for that day. The volunteer shift would be for no more than 3 hours every Sunday. It would not interfere with church hours/I would still attend all 3 meetings each week.

The Hunger Games- Mockingjay part 1. I did like it. I think the PG13 rating suits the movie.

I made the choice to not work out on Sundays. The thought of working out on Sundays did not sit right with me. I feel that going for walks on Sundays is totally fine though.

We shall see if there is a shift in the counsel from the first presidency. I personally don't think God will command women to serve missions exactly as he has commanded men. President Monson has said that serving a mission is a priesthood duty. Do you not think that for some women, marriage is supposed to happen instead of a mission, and that it would be the right choice? I think personal revelation is important for women in deciding whether to go on a mission. I mean, God may want a female to meet her eternal companion and marry during the time she would be serving a mission. I agree with The Folk Prophet that roles differ depending on gender and it applies to serving missions.

Have you prayed about what to do? If I were you, I would pray about it. I think putting the mission first is best, but you need an answer from God.
