  1. Thats the point, most the the so called scientists, that endores man made Global Warming are NOT climatologist or even in a related field. The actual climatologist are saying there is no such thing as man made global warming! Sure, the others are scientist, but this is NOT their field It would be like me having bad back problems and going to see my dentist about it. Sure he is a doctor and might know something about it, but I would rather go see something who specializes in it. Knowing the issue of not having many scientist in the field of climatology, the Global warming liars decided to just start adding names of well respected people in that field to the list without their consent, most of which complete reject their findings!!! If you believe in GW then that is great, but don't come to me asking for a sacrifice to appease your 'god'.
  2. Of course we are having an effect but so are all the other living creatures and nature itself such as storms, volcanos, oceans, earth quakes, etc. As for Global warming, it is true that the earth is in a period of warming but the earth is always changing as part of its normal cycles. The notion that humans are the cause of it is total rubbish. We know the earth goes through these cycles and we also know the sun is going through major sunspot activity right now which most "climatoligist" agree is the real cause. When listening to the loony left go on and on about global warming, comparing people who deny humans are the cause to people who deny the holocost, the threats to all the real scientists who do not support their theorys, threats to revoke licenses or be fired, and a million other forms of harrasment to silence decent while at the same time saying everyone agrees and the debate is over. It reminds me of people who used to get upset when it did not rain and looked to find out why the 'gods' where upset with them and how to apease them. THIS IS THE SAME THING!!! Instead of sacrificing a virgin or doing a rain dance, these people want to destroy our economy, our rights humans, and our civilization to pay homage to 'gia' and make things groovy in their eyes. Do not be fooled and do not let these global warming nuts start sacrificing!
  3. Guys and Gals, you might want to head over to the conservative site and help stand up for us LDS peoples. This guy wrote an article and is calling us a cult. He comes off as a bigot to me and there are some really good LDS responses to him so far, but I end up seeing a lot of anti LDS stuff over there and hope to see more of my friends from over here help represent. This is a great site as well for other conservative articles and such... if you happen to lean that way. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/FrankPa...p;comments=true
  4. Al Gore owns part of the carbon offset company or whatever.
  5. Here is a short story on how a firearm stopped a crime and nobody got hurt. Many stories like these happen every day. Few are reported and even fewer make the news. Only reason this one did was because she used to be Miss USA and is now a seasoned citizen. http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.html?...mp;in_page_id=2
  6. I think it is horrible. The fact that it is being forced on us and the supposed "environ'mental'ist" back it 110%. I refuse to use it. If the government trys to ban the old school bulbs then I will stock up hard core until a judge can over turn it. How can they be for this crap and not for Nuke Power which is way more efficent and safer. The truth is these people just want to see the USA fall. They are attacking us from within and this is just one small battle in our overall war.
  7. Same here really. We are on the same page. The GOP has sold us out but they are the lesser of the two evils. My big thing is freedom to do as a person pleases. After all we believe in free agency even if they make the wrong choices and hurt themselves with that agency. I draw the line when that agency hurts other people. The big debate is exactly what "hurts others". Abortion is murder and thus kills another living human but they do not see it that way... they almost see it as a woman infected with a parisite. Another would be second hand smoke, which is harmful but people want to be able to smoke any place and anytime. I think smoking should be restricted in public because it does hurt others. So in all my ideal situation would be a government which is really small and only providing the basic functions where people are free to do as they please as long as that freedom does not hurt other people.
  8. Most of these people have clean and perfect records. If they do something to tarnish that record they will lose their right to carry, and possibly own the firearm. I do not know the exact number but I would give an honest guess at 99.99999999999% of people who have a CCW have not commited any crimes with them. The media is so biased and anti gun that the very second one person with a CCW steps out of line, it will be headline news for the next year. Do yourself a favor and take a safty and training class. I know here you can take all sorts of different classes, even one at the University. They will teach you how to handle the firearm as well of what to do if it jams, how to store it, how to maintain it, etc.
  9. Buying a gun is a lot easier than a CCW. All you got to do to purchase a gun is walk in and do a quick background check. Nothing as intensive as the CCW permits. Laws to change from state to state, but that is a good thing. The reason is, you can experiment with certain ideas in one state and then what works can be adopted by other states. I would be for some sort of written test for anyone looking to get a firearm. A 1 page small test asking (also reminding) of basic safty questions such as "Always treat your gun as loaded", "never point your firearm at anybody", etc. Quick story on the rule to "Always treat your gun as loaded". A buddy of mine got a Tarus a while back. We went out to the range as he wanted to see how it fired compared to my Beretta 92F (They are supposed to be almost the same gun). Anyway I was letting off a couple rounds when the gun seemed to be empty. I thought ok, out of ammo, and started to walk back to the table while treating the gun as if it were still loaded. I then noticed that it WAS still loaded and somehow the gun had jammed and so the slide on the top was still slightly open. Turns out the issue with that gun was due to a bad factory magazine which has sense been replaced. It certainly was scary though and if I had not been treating the firearm as if it were loaded at all times, a major accident could have happened. I do think more people should get some formal training, especially in safty. I was at a local range a couple weeks ago and this guy was there who had no idea about firearm safty. He struck me as a person who might have only gone shooting a couple times his entire life and really could benifit from a training class.
  10. I agree Six, but we can not go that route. We lost to Clinton in 1992 because Perot came in and took a huge chunk out of Bush Sr. If we divide our vote, we are sure to lose and be stuck with something much worse than any of the current GOP guys. But I am with you in the fact that I am sick and tired of voting for the lesser of two evils.
  11. This is NOT the govt responsibility. There job is to protect our freedoms, not regulate our lives.
  12. Here is a recap of the entire debate. "The war is lost, Bush is evil, Bush lied, the war is lost, the war is lost, I do not have a plan, vote for me."
  13. A lot of our gun deaths are from suicides. If not a gun, they would jump off something, hang, OD, or find another way to die. I also do not buy into your "50" number at all.
  14. I agree, it is sickening how little rights a father has to his children. The govt really does just view him as the "doner".
  15. I think part of the issue with the mother having everything slanted in her direction starts with the governments view on Abortion. In those cases, the govt looks at it as 100% the mothers decision. They see it as her body and her child... her decision... even if the decision is murder. The man is simply a "doner" If all the man is in the relationship is the "doner" then the man has therfor afflicted this woman with the child. She carried it to term, she gave birth, she might have nursed the child, all the man did was show up for a night. So if divorce happens or a couple splits, it is the man who cause this affliction hung out to dry. The woman is now in the situation which the man put her in and so therefor the man must pay. But since it was her body and yadda yadda then she should also keep the child. That is at least how it seems the govt rationalizes the whole thing and I believe it starts with the laws on abortion and the right of fathers there. Somehow this needs to all change but I think the start of the fight is with abortion.
  16. Are you joking? I have not seen so many lies on TV since the last DNC convention. She thinks WE blew up the towers on 911!!! Rosie lies so much that even when she says her name is Rosie, I instinctively do not believe her.
  17. Like that works in the UK where you have no border with anyone really? It does not work there and it would not work here. Or how about Jamacia? Used to be such a lovely place... then they outlawed guns and guess what... crime when through the roof and now the cops are out gunned and the criminals control the place. Outlaw guns and only outlaws have them. Like making a "gun free zone" but Mr. Cho did not seem to follow that law either. Criminals do NOT follow the law... thats why we call them criminals. Lets also not forget for one split second that owning a firearm is a RIGHT as a free person.
  18. I never open the door unless I know who it is. I will go to the window and talk to them if need be otherwise nobody has busniness knocking on my door. Its better to avoid the conflict if you can since you just never know. I guess if everyone does this then the missionaries will have a harder time but I am sure the Lord will direct them just the same. Speaking of salesmen at the door... ever see the movie Second Hand Lions? Great movie! Awesome sceen where the 2 older me sit on the front porch and wait for the sales men to come (like they do every day). Once they do they start to shoot their shotguns in the air and scare them away. They got a big kick out of watching those guys run away. I do have a holster which works nice under my jacket in the winter time. During the summer I do not want the extra weight to be honest and have no way to hide it on me so I tend to either keep it in my desk at work and then in my truck when driving around.
  19. I read the contract dispute was about her behavior. Meaning they wanted her to clean up her mouth and back things up with facts and she refused to do so. There was also a long running rumor that Walters wanted Rosie gone. The first part of the story talks about the contract but the second part talks about "differences in content" or something like that.
  20. I carry mine almost all the time. Sometimes I get "looks" but oh well. Just shows more people need to be educated on our rights and such. the liberal media (News, TV, Movies, etc) always makes villians out of gun owners. I was watching CSI a while back and they were looking over suspects and one guy had a gun registered to him... everyone freaked and you were supposed to know that was the guy because he owned a hand gun which had be registared legally. The media has been trying to push their anti gun agenda for years and since they are the main source of information for many, it is not wonder so many people are scared to death. I got a semi personal story. My great aunt lived out in the country all by herself. This was about 35 years ago now. There had been a number of break ins in the county and a few women had even been raped. The man responsible was at large still. One night late my aunt hears something at her door and could see a figure through the little curtain. She asked who was there and what they wanted but got no reply. The man attempted to get in that door even harder and started to kick it. My aunt being an old country girl had a rifle and shot the man through the door killing him. After that the break ins stopped. My Aunt was not charged but it took a while for all the legal mumbo jumbo to go away. I am not sure about this part but it was something about where the man was on her property when she shot him that kept her from being prosecuted. Reguardless, she ended up moving in with my other aunt after that as it really shook her up and she ended up living many more years after that.
  21. Speaking of Mitt, he wrote a rather good article today. Here is a link to it. The article is on the 1st Amendment. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/MittRom...78-971e0e67a15a
  22. For me it depends. I work on an online mod which I have been involved in for 3 years now. I work every day with these people and so we all know each other rather well. I would consider myself close to some of them even though we have never met. Other than that I like to keep things from the net... online only. I have no interest in meeting people from online unless they were some of the people I have worked with above.

Yea I want one that can carry. That is a must have. Thanks for the advice, please keep it coming. We have not made a decision just yet.
  24. Um, dude, have you even read Mitt's opinions on political and economic issues? I'm guessing you haven't, or that you're unacquainted with Mitt's personal life, because based on his business history and successes, I think you'd have a hard time finding a more hard-core capitalist. Are you sure you're talking about the same Mitt Romney we're talking about? Yes I have and he is wishy washy. perhaps it is that he has had to compromise his values being is such a liberal mecca like Mass. However just the other day in an interview we talked about outlawing machine guns which really bothers me as any semi auto loading gun is a "machine gun". I think Mitt would rather be a deal maker than stand up and fight the good fight. In my eyes I see him a lot like Bush... and Bush is not a real conservative... he is a liberal in sheeps clothing. Amnest, mega spending, weak knees, etc. Here are some of the things that Mitt seems weak on. Firearm rights Abortion Gay Marriage Stem Cells Government spending etc I can look at what Mitt is saying vs what he has done. Sure he has done some good like in Salt Lake but is that enough? I do not think so. Bottom line is I do not feel he is conservative enough and I want somebody who will be like Ronald Maximus to get out their to fight for our way of life and convince the world that OUR way is the right way. Who then? Right now things look rather bleek but I think the best possible man is Newt. He might not be perfect but he has very conservative ideas that he can express well and knows what needs to be done and how to get those things done. He is a great speaker who can motivate and lead. Now he has his downside but he is the best man in the current selection for the job by far. But lets be honest here. Mitt does not think he has a chance in heck of winning the nod. He is going for vice president and then after 8 years if the administration does well... he will then be in a strong position for the whole shebang.
  25. I am new here but the what appeals to me is the interaction with others in the Church from different areas and even different faiths. I enjoy the discussions, different perspectives, and new insight or information provided here.
